Murakami Farm's Commitment to Childhood Cancer Awareness
Murakami Farm, based in Hiroshima and led by President Kiyotaka Murakami, proudly announces its continued support for the Global Gold September Campaign, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness about childhood cancer. This year marks the fifth participation of Murakami Farm in this significant movement.
Global Gold September Campaign Overview
Scheduled annually throughout September, the Global Gold September Campaign aims to illuminate various iconic buildings and structures globally in gold to encourage understanding and support for childhood cancer. Since its inception in Japan in 2021, the campaign has seen a remarkable expansion in support, doubling participation to over 120 locations nationwide in the past year alone. Notably, iconic landmarks such as the Tokyo Skytree and Sapporo TV Tower were among those that glowed in gold, demonstrating the rising acknowledgment of this critical cause.
In Hiroshima, the city's emblematic Hiroshima Castle will be lit up in gold again this September, with the lighting ceremony set for September 10. The event will also feature a special concert performed by a string quartet, including renowned violinist Akiko Goto, streamed online to the Hiroshima University Hospital, where it will uplift the spirits of hospitalized children.
Supporting Pediatric Cancer Patients
Throughout this campaign, Murakami Farm aims to extend support to children battling cancer. The company's involvement goes hand-in-hand with its mission to promote health through the production of nutritious vegetables. The organization has been recognized for its commitment to creating new value under the motto, "We create a farming business that protects life."
For over twenty years, Murakami Farm has been producing the impressive "Broccoli Super Sprout" and "Broccoli Sprout 200," developed during cancer prevention research at Johns Hopkins University. To further its dedication to this cause, the farm donates a portion of its revenue to cancer prevention research initiatives in the United States, ensuring that part of its success contributes to the global fight against cancer.
