Exploring Social Issues: A Journey with Seino Transportation
In an innovative initiative to empower the youth, Ridilover Co., Ltd., led by CEO Toshiki Abe, organized a two-day event titled "Next-Gen Leaders Journey 2025 Summer" during August 2025 at the Tokyo branch of Seino Transportation Co., Ltd. This program attracted 40 enthusiastic middle and high school students from diverse schools across the Kanto, Chubu, and Kansai regions, all eager to learn about and tackle societal challenges.
Over the course of two days, participants formed cross-school teams, engaging in on-site inspections of Seino’s operations. They gathered insights regarding the company’s ongoing efforts to solve pressing societal issues. The challenge called for young minds to brainstorm and propose actionable ideas aimed at improving these efforts. The excitement and collaboration among students emphasized their genuine interest in addressing social problems.
Background of the Initiative
For over 15 years, Ridilover has championed the cause of raising awareness among youth about social issues through its "SDGs/Social Problem Study Tours." This program aims to deepen students' understanding of real-world challenges, encouraging them to think critically about actionable solutions. Since 2023, Ridilover has mobilized over 10,000 students annually, but until now, participation largely relied on school-sanctioned events. In response to requests from students who expressed a desire to connect with like-minded peers and develop insights beyond mere theory, Ridilover designed this summer program specifically for those wishing to engage with corporations directly.
This unique opportunity was realized through collaboration with Seino Transportation, a company recognized for its pioneering efforts in addressing social challenges within the logistics industry. Over 130 tour destinations had been pre-established, but Seino’s commitment to social responsibility made it a perfect fit for this distinguished initiative.
Voices of Participants
One of the participating students reflected on the experience, saying, "I was surprised to learn about the advanced technologies being utilized, such as hydrogen trucks and autonomous vehicles. Engaging with employees allowed me to understand better the relationship between the company and societal issues."
Another student shared their pride in presenting their ideas to representatives of a top Japanese company: "It’s a significant honor to be able to communicate our expressions and thoughts to experts at Seino. I find this experience particularly useful for my future endeavors in university admissions and presentations. Even though I’ve done multiple presentations at school, this one will stay etched in my memory."
Feedback from Seino Transportation
A spokesperson from Seino expressed their enthusiasm regarding the participation of middle and high schoolers. They stated, "We were delighted to share with the youth how logistics play an essential role in sustaining our daily lives and that these contributions shouldn't be taken for granted. The presentations from the students were so insightful that they inspired us to consider adaptations based on their feedback. We genuinely appreciate Ridilover for creating such a wonderful platform, and we’d be thrilled if some of these students chose to join Seino in the future."
Furthermore, Ridilover's initiative provided valuable exposure to companies about the significance of conveying their efforts towards social responsibility to the next generation. The program highlights the enrichment for participating businesses in enhancing their branding and communication strategies with the youth.
With over 10,000 students participating each year, Ridilover continues to create robust connections between youth and corporations. Organizations wishing to explore educational tours or collaborate on similar initiatives are encouraged to reach out.
