Chery's TIGGO7 and TIGGO8 SUVs Revolutionize Family Mobility in Europe
Chery's Bold Entry into the European Market
On June 30, 2025, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. hosted a significant brand and product launch event in Warsaw, Poland, marking its official entrance into the European automotive market. This launch is seen as a strategic initiation, putting Poland in the spotlight as the first European frontier for the brand.
During the event, Chery introduced two of its flagship SUV models globally: the TIGGO7, marketed as the 'urban family champion SUV,' and the TIGGO8, described as the 'exclusive 5+2 intelligent SUV.' Both models will be available in various configurations, including traditional internal combustion engines (ICE) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) options, highlighting Chery's commitment to diverse consumer needs.
Zhang Shengshan, Vice President of Chery, emphasized the company's notable history as the leading exporter of Chinese automobiles for 22 consecutive years, with a customer base exceeding 16 million across over 120 countries. The event not only showcased the launch of these models but also underlined Chery's robust international presence, supported by more than 13,000 engineers and investments surpassing 100 billion yuan.
Advanced Features Tailored for Family Needs
The global models, TIGGO7 and TIGGO8, are designed with top-notch safety standards, aiming for five-star ratings due to their cage-like structure and advanced Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The TIGGO8 stands out with its flexible seating configuration of '5+2,' allowing for a spacious cargo capacity of up to 1,930 liters. On the other hand, the more compact TIGGO7 offers a versatile storage solution, ranging from 500 liters to a maximum of 1,305 liters, complemented by luxurious interiors to accommodate various requirements.
Chery's ambitious strategy is highlighted by the introduction of its proprietary Super Hybrid (CSH) vehicle, essential for establishing a solid foothold in the European hybrid vehicle market. The CSH features a dedicated high-efficiency hybrid engine with an impressive thermal efficiency rating of 46.5%. It boasts cutting-edge hybrid technology, offering low fuel consumption of less than 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers in full electric mode. This model also incorporates a peak hybrid power output of 280 kW and a remarkable engine speed of 24,000 rpm, ensuring optimal efficiency in diverse driving conditions.
Safety is paramount, as illustrated by the Guardian battery safety system which provides exceptional protection. It boasts an instantaneous power cutoff capacity of 2 milliseconds, a remarkable operational temperature range of -35°C to 60°C, and compliance with IP68 standards for durability. Such innovations set a new benchmark for hybrid vehicle safety and reliability in the competitive European market.
European Expansion Plans
The entry into Poland is just the start for Chery's European journey. Following Poland, the company plans to introduce its vehicles in Greece, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Hungary. The TIGGO7 and TIGGO8 models are currently undergoing the rigorous Euro NCAP safety tests, with high expectations of achieving top ratings. This will further elevate their positioning in the premium market segment and accelerate Chery’s momentum across European territories.
As Chery embarks on this significant journey into Europe, the introduction of the TIGGO7 and TIGGO8 signifies a pivotal move in redefining family mobility. With a strong focus on customer needs, innovative technology, and sustainable practices, Chery is set to challenge the existing norms in the European automotive industry.
