First Hope Bank Partners with Habitat for Humanity
First Hope Bank has officially kicked off the much-anticipated
2025 Rural Rally in collaboration with
Habitat for Humanity Northwest New Jersey. This event is a key component of the larger
2025 Carter Work Project, a national initiative aimed at enhancing housing opportunities across rural areas in America. On October 27th, volunteers from First Hope Bank and members of the community gathered in
Wantage, New Jersey, to clear the land for future construction projects, marking the beginning of this vital effort.
A Community Effort
The launch event saw numerous volunteers rolling up their sleeves to remove debris, clean the property, and prepare the site for the construction of affordable homes. The spirit of cooperation was palpable as everyone worked together towards a shared goal. Dan Beatty, President and CEO of First Hope Bank, expressed his commitment to community service, stating, "Giving back is not just our duty but an integral part of who we are. This effort exemplifies our dedication to helping local families achieve stability through homeownership."
Financial Support for Housing Initiatives
In addition to their volunteer work, First Hope Bank has pledged financial support by donating
$5,000 to Habitat for Humanity Northwest New Jersey. This contribution is part of a broader strategy to bolster affordable housing development in rural communities. Furthermore, the bank has offered the use of its Andover branch parking lot to create a temporary mobile Habitat ReStore, which will facilitate ongoing operations while Habitat searches for a new, permanent location in
Sussex County.
Continuing a Legacy
The
Rural Rally is vital in Habitat for Humanity's mission to revitalize rural regions through dedicated volunteerism and community engagement. This initiative continues the legacy of former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, who have passionately supported Habitat's work for decades. Their commitment to building homes mirrors the values that First Hope Bank strives to embody in its local efforts.
