Nobu Expands Luxury Offerings in Portugal

Nobu Hospitality is thrilled to unveil plans for a new luxury resort in Monte Rei, located in the eastern Algarve region of Portugal. This forthcoming project represents the brand's second significant endeavor in Portugal and promises to redefine the luxury resort experience along the southern coast of the country.

The Nobu development will take center stage in a comprehensive investment initiative spearheaded by Norfin, encompassing hospitality, residential properties, leisure facilities, and future additions, including a beach club. Groundbreaking for the Nobu hotel is scheduled for 2027, with an anticipated opening for guests by 2029.

Situated within over 1,000 acres of pristine natural landscapes, this remarkable resort will feature the acclaimed golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Anticipated to combine Nobu's signature luxury hospitality approach with exceptional dining, timeless architecture, and intuitive service, the resort will introduce a new facet of Nobu's lifestyle, characterized by year-round resort living and a close connection to the stunning surroundings and coastline of the region.

The Nobu hotel will comprise 100 rooms and suites, alongside an exclusive Nobu restaurant and thoughtfully curated guest services. In addition, the complex will include around 21,000 square meters of Nobu-branded villas and residences, providing both homeowners and visitors with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Nobu lifestyle within the exquisite Monte Rei environment.

For nearly two decades, Monte Rei has been recognized internationally for its prestigious golf course, high service standards, vibrant residential community, and enviable location within one of Portugal's most charming tourist destinations. The next phase of its development aims to enhance these foundations, creating a more complete year-round destination for residents, partners, and guests, while preserving the privacy and authenticity that have always defined the complex.

To achieve this vision, an esteemed international design team has been selected, including DSA Architects and Rockwell Group, a globally recognized architecture and design studio and long-time partner of Nobu. Together, they will develop a coherent architectural and interior design vision that aligns Nobu's understated design philosophy with the landscape of Monte Rei and the essence of the eastern Algarve.
