Kuro Games is set to launch a significant overhaul of its open-world action RPG, 'Wuthering Waves' (available on Windows, Mac, PS5, iOS, and Android) with the arrival of Version 2.7, titled "The Dawn Reflected in Dark Tides," on October 9. Players can look forward to the introduction of two new characters, Galbrena and Kyuuen, featured in an exclusive gacha.

Story Expansion and Epic Battles

The new update initiates the climax of the Rinashita saga with the introduction of two pivotal chapters in the main storyline. On the very first day of release, players can dive into Chapter 2, Act 10, "The Return of the Departed," and Chapter 2, Act 11, "The Dawn Reflected in Dark Tides." The protagonist, alongside their allies, will face formidable adversaries that plague the Rinashita people.

Additionally, a new side story titled "Alone in a Foreign Land, Becoming a Stranger" will open on October 30, showcasing the unique perspective of Kyuuen, a mysterious swordsman, as he reveals lesser-known facts about the final battle.

New Areas and Gameplay Enhancements

Version 2.7 will also see players explore two brand-new areas: Monty Traihiro, a site for the Hero King’s final training, and Parade Paradise, a dangerous illusory paradise created by foes. The latter turns residents into puppets, adding an eerie twist to the adventure. Players are tasked with the challenge of saving the Rinashita civilization from a foretold apocalyptic future.

Furthermore, player experience will be enhanced with multiple system improvements. New features include optimal character development plans and the ability to revisit main storyline moments, making gameplay smoother.

There will be a host of quality-of-life changes, such as the addition of a "Return to Field" button across many game screens, remapping of event pages, and a comprehensive events summary page on the map interface. These upgrades are all designed to facilitate navigation and enhance immersion in the game world.

Exclusive New Characters and Gacha

Galbrena

Debuting in the first half of the limited gacha is Galbrena (voiced by Umeka Shoji), known as the "Devil Hunter." She is a five-star Resonator with the burning attribute, wielding dual pistols and utilizing the unique power of her companion, Chimera. With her formidable combat abilities, Galbrena is a skilled attacker, benefiting from the "Inferno Shadow" set effect that amplifies damage.

Kyuuen

In the latter half, players will encounter Kyuuen, a five-star Resonator with an exceptional ability to perceive the world through a manifested "bamboo forest." His expertise in martial arts has been honed through years of dedicated training, giving him an edge over his foes. Players can expect alluring combat with Kyuuen using a rapid sword type weapon, showcasing his confidence and skill.

Returning Characters

The limited gacha will also feature the return of familiar characters like Lupa (voiced by Minami Takahashi) and Zanni (voiced by Hitomi Ueda), both of whom possess unique attributes and weapon types.

Exciting Events and New Mini Games

An assortment of limited-time events is slated for Version 2.7, such as "Lament Recon: Sora Soldier," a rogue-like mini game where players defeat waves of enemies while enhancing their characters, and a photo event "Moments of Light and Shadow," where players can capture scenes under specific conditions with slow-motion capabilities.

Additionally, the update will feature distribution events in two parts, each allowing players to earn resources to use for gacha pulls and stamina recovery. Also, fan-favorite parkour events will make a comeback.

New Foes and Challenges

Players should also prepare for new challenges as the formidable "Honor Lioness" will be introduced, promising an increase in complexity for combat enthusiasts. New Harmony sets for characters and rare nightmare-type Resonators will add more depth to gameplay.

Offline Events and Fine Merchandise

In the real world, 'Wuthering Waves' will hold pop-up events featuring meet-and-greet opportunities for visitors, as well as participate in the Ikebukuro Halloween event with special photo sessions and exclusive merchandise distribution.
