In a strategic move to bolster AirBorneo Airways' operational efficiency, Pratt & Whitney Canada has signed a comprehensive four-year maintenance agreement for the PW127M engines. This partnership is aimed at providing extensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services crucial for the ATR 72-500 aircraft that are integral to AirBorneo’s fleet.

Enhancing Air Connectivity in East Malaysia

Established specifically to address the air transportation needs of remote and underserved communities across East Malaysia, AirBorneo operates the ATR 72-500 aircraft under the Rural Air Services network. This partnership with Pratt & Whitney is expected to significantly enhance the reliability of these vital connections, ensuring that communities remain accessible.

Anthony Rossi, the vice president of Customer Service at Pratt & Whitney Canada, expressed the collaborative effort in tailoring a maintenance solution that not only optimizes engine costs but also guarantees high operational readiness.
