ChangAn Automobile Unveils Strategic Plans for Global Expansion at Auto Shanghai 2025

In an ambitious move to redefine the automotive landscape, ChangAn Automobile recently presented its groundbreaking strategies during Auto Shanghai 2025, themed "Together for a Smarter World". This event, running from April 23 to May 2 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, marked a significant moment for the company as it outlines its vision for intelligent low-carbon mobility.

ChangAn Automobile, known for its commitment to innovation, unveiled three pivotal strategic plans that reflect its determination to drive the next wave of advancements in automotive technology. The centerpiece of these plans is the Shangri-La Mission, which aims to diversify ChangAn's product offerings significantly over the next five years. This ambitious initiative is set to introduce 45 all-new models globally, with a striking focus on new energy vehicles. Notably, 2025 alone will witness the launch of 20 new models, 12 of which will be new energy vehicles, including exciting additions like the AVATR 06, DEEPAL S09, and CHANG-AN Q07. The company's collaboration with CATL further emphasizes its commitment to strengthening the technological backbone of these innovations, especially in electrolyte technologies and solid-state battery development. A prototype solid-state battery is set to make its debut in late 2025, with large-scale production projected for 2027.

Beyond evolving its product range, ChangAn's Dubhe 2.0 Plan allocates a staggering 20 billion yuan over five years to advance AI large model development and enhance its assisted driving capabilities. This investment underlines the company's ambition to not only keep pace with technological advancements but also to position itself at the forefront of low-altitude economic growth, including the exploration of flying cars. With over 50 intelligent features and multiple iterations of its Intelligent TS Drive assisted driving system set for release, the company aims to cater to various user needs. A prototype for the advanced LiDAR PRO version will also hit the market by the end of 2025, showcasing ChangAn's forward-thinking approach to autonomous driving technology.

The Vast Ocean Plan represents ChangAn's resolve to expand its global footprint. With an investment exceeding $15 billion planned by 2030, the company is targeting annual international sales of 1.5 million vehicles. The global strategy will transition to a "6+2" layout, prioritizing five key regions on par with China’s strategic importance. Previous production capabilities are anticipated to grow significantly, from 30 million to 50 million units, facilitated by the establishment of 11 KD projects in nations including Kazakhstan and Egypt, yielding an additional 500,000 units in production capacity. ChangAn's expansion plan also includes entering new markets throughout Brazil, Algeria, Indonesia, Germany, and Australia, with a vision of comprehensive regional coverage by 2026.

Zhu Huarong, Chairman of ChangAn Automobile, expressed unwavering confidence in the company's future despite the challenges posed by a competitive global market. "Driven by our historical spirit of innovating through change and a commitment to sustainable transportation, we believe in our potential to become a world-renowned auto brand," he stated. As ChangAn continues its journey towards building a smarter and more sustainable future, it aims to leverage its innovative culture, strategic execution, and exceptional research and development capabilities to propel this vision forward.

In closing, ChangAn Automobile stands at a pivotal juncture as it embraces the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, ready to make significant contributions towards leading sustainable mobility and enriching lives worldwide. With its robust initiatives presented at Auto Shanghai 2025, ChangAn is set to redefine the future of the automotive industry on a global scale.
