On February 26, 2023, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Young Entrepreneurs Group (Japan YEG), led by President Tomohichiro Ono, took a significant step towards enhancing international collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with five youth economic organizations from across Asia. This event coincided with Japan YEG's national conference held in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture.
The newly established associations include:
- - Young Entrepreneurs Association Brunei (YEAB)
President Goh Chai Li and Japan YEG President Tomohichiro Ono are pictured at the signing event.

Vice President Philaiphone Vongpraseuth of YEAL also participated in the discussions with Japan YEG.

MYEA’s Vice President, Thi Thi Khaing, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration.

Notably, this event marked the first time that online signing ceremonies were held with these two organizations.
These agreements are a part of Japan YEG’s larger mission to bolster a network of young entrepreneurs throughout the Asian region. This initiative aims to facilitate international business matching, foster mutual exchanges among young economic players, and create joint ventures that will pave the way for innovative solutions in various business sectors.
In addition to these new partnerships, Japan YEG also holds existing MOU agreements with five other organizations:
- - Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC)
- - The Third Wednesday Association Young Entrepreneur Group (YEA-YEG) from Taiwan
- - Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA)
- - Thai Young Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce (YEC)
- - Philippine Young Entrepreneurs Association (PYEA)
In 1983, the Japan YEG was established to develop the capabilities and foster relationships among young entrepreneurs who are expected to play critical roles in the future of regional economies. Currently, it boasts approximately 32,000 members from 417 local chambers of commerce across Japan. Its mission is to promote mutual knowledge and skill enhancement among young business leaders who are the key to building vibrant communities.
The organization is led this fiscal year by President Tomohichiro Ono, also affiliated with the Komatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s young entrepreneurs’ division.
