Exploring Climate Change Efforts and Environmental Management at Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd.

Overview of the Seminar

On September 8, 2025, JPI (Japan Planning Institute) will host a seminar featuring Mr. Tadashi Ozawa, the Head of Environmental Solution Promotion Division at Daiwa House Industry, Co., Ltd. This event is aimed at providing an in-depth analysis of Daiwa House's initiatives in addressing climate change, business continuity planning (BCP), and environmentally conscious management.

Importance of Climate Action

There is no doubt that human activities are a significant contributor to the recent rise in temperatures and global warming, as highlighted in IPCC reports. Given this context, necessary actions geared towards achieving carbon neutrality have become a shared responsibility on a global scale. It is particularly urgent for the leaders within private sector companies to educate themselves and pivot towards environmentally friendly management practices. In some cases, public-private partnerships for grassroots initiatives are also essential.

In light of the bleak predictions stating that the global average temperature might increase by 4 degrees by the end of the century if we do not take action, the time has come for each individual on the planet to reassess and modify their behaviors accordingly. This seminar will delve into scientific insights regarding climate change, proposing specific measures essential for achieving carbon reduction and offering perspectives on practical implementation.
