In a thrilling collaboration between Kyuuzitsu Hack Co., led by CEO Kazuki Tanaka, and the Takanawa Gateway Area Management Association, directed by Tomoko Onuma, a unique puzzle-solving event titled Takanawa Gateway City Puzzle is set to commence on August 14, 2026. This event is a first of its kind, utilizing the entire Takanawa Gateway City as an interactive playground for puzzle enthusiasts.

Discovering Takanawa Gateway City

The Takanawa Gateway City Puzzle aims to unveil the area's attractions and encourage exploration among participants. If you've always felt curious about Takanawa but haven't had the opportunity to delve into it, this event is your chance! Participants will navigate through new landmarks and hidden gems of the city, guided by a character designed to enhance their experience and encourage them to return and revisit their favorite spots.

Exciting Game Mechanics

Customizable Game Routes

The event adopts a sugoroku-style (a traditional Japanese board game) puzzle format. In the first half of the adventure, players will advance through a booklet navigating various paths of their choice. At certain checkpoints, they can choose between courses like the Fashion & Gourmet Course, Cafe & Books Course, Takanawa History Course, or the City Villa Course. This personalized approach allows each participant to tailor their journey based on their mood. Depending on how they combine their routes, they can even enjoy a completely indoor puzzle experience, allowing them to remain cool and collected—ideal for warm summer days.

Exploring the City’s Highlights

The puzzle booklet is packed with insights about popular shops and dining spots within Takanawa Gateway City. Solving each puzzle will lead participants to discover intriguing places they may want to revisit later. As they stroll through the city, they’ll also have the opportunity to stop by interesting shops along the way.

Engaging Climax and Photo Opportunities

As players enter the second half of the adventure, they will face a thrilling finale set within the experimental cultural museum, MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives. Here, unique visual puzzles and surprises await! Participants can also capture Instagram-worthy pictures, creating lasting memories and experiences to share with friends on social media.

How to Participate

1. Purchase a puzzle kit from the Machihack! Ticket Site, specifying the location and period for kit pickup.
2. Collect your kit at the designated location during the pickup period.
3. Follow the provided instructions to explore Takanawa Gateway City while solving puzzles.
4. Complete all puzzles to finish the game successfully.

Please note that the number of kits available is limited. A smartphone with internet, calling, and camera functionalities is required for participation.
