XCMG Advocates for Sustainable Mining Solutions at Boao Forum 2026

The Boao Forum for Asia 2026, held on July 27 in Perth, Australia, served as an essential gathering for industry leaders, focusing on innovative pathways toward sustainable mining practices. XCMG Group, a leading Chinese machinery manufacturer, highlighted its commitment to addressing environmental concerns in the mining sector through sustained research and development, comprehensive digital transformation, and deeper localization strategies.

In the forum, themed "The Next Phase of Cooperation in the Green Industry," nearly 200 representatives from government, industry, technology, finance, and research fields collaborated to discuss pressing issues related to green innovation. XCMG's President, Yang Dongsheng, emphasized the sector's collective challenge in integrating innovative technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) into mining operations, stating, "These technologies can be the cornerstone for a new drive towards green growth."

XCMG believes that the successful integration of digital and green technologies within the mining industry is pivotal. President Yang elaborated, saying that an ongoing commitment to R&D and digital transformation alongside further localization efforts is essential for progress. He made it clear that XCMG, deeply rooted in the real economy, aims to leverage its digital and eco-friendly technologies, providing solutions that facilitate a global energy transition.

"We offer a comprehensive range of mining and construction machinery, renewable energy equipment, and integrated smart, low-carbon mining solutions aimed to support the energy transition in Australia and globally," Yang stated. He also underscored the role of AI in enabling smarter equipment, autonomous operations, and data optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

Following the forum, international delegates visited the mining operations of Fortescue in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. Notably, XCMG signed the largest export order of eco-friendly mining machinery from China, fostering Fortescue's commitment to achieving zero-emission operations by 2030. This deal represents a significant stride toward transforming the region's mining landscape through electric machinery.

XCMG’s long-term strategy in Australia emphasizes a localized approach, marrying sustained technological investment with a thorough understanding of local market dynamics. As the industry adapts to electrification and autonomous operations, XCMG is focused on advancing new energy equipment, innovative mining tech, and smart application development.

Through continuous technological innovations and sustainable product development, XCMG supports a transition to a low-carbon economy across its entire value chain while bolstering global energy transition efforts.

By collaborating with global partners and investing in sustainable mining practices, XCMG aims to promote an inclusive, mutually beneficial future that prioritizes environmental stewardship in the mining industry, ensuring that economic growth aligns with ecological preservation.
