Brigade Showcases Vision Zero Expertise at 2025 Trade Show

This June, Brigade Electronics will participate in the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors Municipal Public Works Trade Show held on June 4th and 5th in Woodstock, Ontario. The event offers Brigade an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to road safety through the Vision Zero initiative, aimed at eliminating fatalities and serious injuries on roads.

Understanding Vision Zero

Vision Zero is a comprehensive approach to roadway safety that has been adopted in various cities across Canada, including major urban centers like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. The initiative is based on the principle that road traffic deaths and serious injuries are preventable and seeks to address the issues caused by poor visibility and blind spots in heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses.

During the upcoming trade show, Brigade will engage with attendees on topics related to Vision Zero and the effective implementation of safety measures designed to protect both drivers and vulnerable road users. The company plans to showcase a range of advanced safety solutions, including AI-powered cameras and radar technology.

Addressing Road Safety Concerns

Warren Di Marco, the CEO of Brigade Canada, highlighted a grim statistic, indicating that in 2022 alone, road collisions resulted in the deaths of 1,931 Canadians, including 340 pedestrians and cyclists. Beyond the human cost, these accidents impose a staggering financial burden of $3.6 billion annually on the Canadian economy. Brigade aims to alleviate these issues through its innovative vehicle safety solutions.

A standout product featured at the trade show will be Brigade’s AI driver safety camera, designed to minimize the risk of incidents associated with distractions and fatigue. This cutting-edge technology includes sensors that monitor a driver’s face, head movements, and behavior while driving, providing real-time alerts if any unsafe behaviors are detected.

Brigade's Backeye®360 camera system will also be on display. This award-winning device utilizes four strategically placed cameras to give drivers a complete 360-degree view of their surroundings, significantly aiding in visibility when operating large vehicles. The recent upgrade includes advanced AI features that can detect pedestrians in blind spots, enhancing the decision-making capabilities of drivers.

Enhancing Safety with Innovative Technology

The integration of AI into Brigade’s products not only enhances safety but also ensures seamless compatibility with existing vehicle systems. These upgrades are designed to be user-friendly for fleet managers and operators, allowing easier navigation of safety measures without extensive overhauls of current systems.

Furthermore, Brigade has partnered with organizations like Together for Safer Roads to amplify their commitment to enhancing road safety. Participation in the AORS Trade Show signifies Brigade's dedication to collaborating with municipal leaders and industry experts to raise the profile of road safety and Vision Zero benefits.

The trade show provides Brigade the platform to meet with stakeholders, educators, and transportation professionals, exchanging ideas and information about the future of road safety initiatives.

Brigade Electronics is not just a vendor; it is a pioneer in developing safe and compliant vehicle safety solutions since it was established in 1976. The company seeks to empower drivers and minimize risks associated with vehicle operation through innovative technology that stands the test of time and addresses the evolving needs of the transportation sector.
