A New Learning Experience at Lumine Tachikawa
On March 21, 2026, the much-anticipated
Kids' Marketplace will debut at
Lumine Tachikawa, aiming to foster children's learning and connection with the community. This unique event focuses on encouraging children to take center stage through engaging activities such as a
Kids Flea Market and interactive workshops celebrating the charm of the
Ome Line.
The Kids' Marketplace is designed to nurture not only financial literacy but also communication skills among young participants. Children will have the chance to sell and buy items at the flea market, thereby gaining firsthand experience in managing money and interacting with others. This initiative seeks to deepen children’s curiosity about the
Tama area, especially
Ome, and create more opportunities for them to visit the region.

Kids Flea Market
- In this special segment, kids will take on the role of shopkeepers, selling their old toys, clothes, and books. They will set prices and engage with customers, cultivating essential skills. With collaboration from local businesses, participants can also purchase items showcasing the rich culture of the
Tama area.

- First 100 participants can redeem a free waffle from Mister Waffle on the first floor of Lumine Tachikawa!

Age: Grades 3-6 (up to March 2026 graduates), with shopping free for younger kids.

Interactive Kids' Workshops — Participate in hands-on activities hosted by five local businesses. Kids can engage in crafting with beads and making straps, as well as woodworking utilizing nature’s materials. These workshops immerse children in local culture and the beauty of the natural world.

GOGO Kids! GOGO Ome! — By completing a short questionnaire at our designated counter, kids will receive a special one-way children's ticket for future travel along the Ome Line! Limited to 600 attendees, don’t miss this chance to explore the area!
