Reforestation Initiatives Highlighted at EcoPro 2025 by APP Japan

APP Japan at EcoPro 2025

In December 2025, APP Japan proudly participated in the EcoPro 2025 event held at Tokyo Big Sight. This exhibition was not just a platform for showcasing products but also a testament to the company's commitment to sustainability through its ongoing collaboration with Universal Paper Co., Ltd. Under the banner of the "Forest Revitalization Project - Let's Work Together on the SDGs!", both companies engaged with visitors to promote their joint efforts in contributing to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the three-day event from December 10 to December 12, the APP booth highlighted the Forest Revitalization Project, which has been in operation since 2020. This initiative directs a portion of the sales from APP Group's paper products toward environmental rehabilitation. Visitors to the booth were treated to displays of products bearing the project logo, illustrating the tangible results of the initiative. This visual connection between product purchase and environmental impact resonated strongly with attendees.

The booth also featured an interactive quiz about APP's efforts towards achieving the SDGs. This activity attracted many young visitors, including elementary and junior high school students, and provided an engaging way for them to learn about sustainability. The excitement in the air was palpable as participants eagerly answered questions and learned about the importance of environmental stewardship.

On December 11, notable visitors included students from Tsukuba University Affiliated Sakado High School and Ehime University Affiliated High School, who recently participated in an Indonesian field trip exploring APP's factories, reforestation sites, and on-the-ground project activities. They presented a video summarizing their experiences and insights gained from the trip, aptly titled "What We Learned Through the Indonesia Training." This initiative fostered a deeper connection to the reforestation efforts and highlighted the importance of educational outreach in environmental projects.

Additionally, Dori Priatna, the secretary-general of the Beranta Environmental Protection Fund managing the project in Indonesia, expressed gratitude toward the two schools for their contributions during a special ceremony at the booth. He presented certificates of appreciation for their generosity, reinforcing the notion that local actions can lead to global change.

Through its impactful representation at EcoPro 2025, APP Japan not only showcased its products but also cultivated awareness and engagement around sustainability issues. By involving students and the community, APP demonstrated that reforestation and environmental responsibility can be part of a broader dialogue between corporations, educational institutions, and the public. This initiative illustrates a promising pathway toward achieving sustainable development through collective efforts.

As we forge ahead, the importance of reforestation and commitments to the SDGs will become even more critical. The work of APP Japan and its collaborators highlights how business initiatives can integrate environmental consciousness, make a difference, and engage the next generation in sustainability efforts.
