Mazda's January 2026 Sales Report
Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) recently shared its sales figures for January 2026, revealing a noteworthy milestone despite a decline from previous years. The company reported total sales of
28,958 vehicles, marking the
third best sales month in its history. However, this figure represents a
14% decrease compared to January 2025. Analyzing further, the sales per day dropped by
17.3%, attributed to one extra selling day in January 2026 compared to the same month last year.
Despite the overall decline in sales, the performance of the
CX-50 model was particularly impressive. This vehicle, which is assembled in the United States, sold
10,415 units, contributing significantly to the overall total and setting a record for Mazda's January sales for this specific model. This surge highlights the demand for the CX-50, underscoring Mazda's capability to adapt and meet consumer preferences effectively.
In contrast, certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle sales saw a positive trend, with
6,109 units sold, reflecting a
15.6% increase compared to January 2025. This growth signals a robust market for certified pre-owned vehicles, showcasing that consumers are seeking reliable and affordable options in the current economic climate.
Looking at the individual performances of various Mazda models, the numbers indicate a mixed bag. While the
Mazda3 saw a dip in sales, with a total of
2,473 units sold, down from
2,983 last year, the
CX-5 continues to hold its ground with
9,873 units sold, although this is a decline of
8% from the previous year.
In terms of market presence,
Mazda Canada, Inc. recorded sales of
4,974 units, representing an
increase of 4.9%, while
Mazda Motor de México achieved
8,704 vehicle sales, up by
11% compared to January 2025. These figures illustrate Mazda's strong foothold in the North American markets, reinforcing its status as a competitive player.
