2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Finalists: Honoring Top Fielders in Baseball

2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Finalists Announced

On October 15, 2025, Rawlings Sporting Goods Company made a significant announcement regarding the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, celebrating outstanding defensive performances in Major League Baseball. The recognition is given separately for both the American League (AL) and the National League (NL). This annual event not only honors individual players' skills but also upholds the legacy of the Gold Glove award, which has recognized defensive excellence since its inception in 1957.

This year, six finalists from the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs lead the way, marking them as standouts in their respective leagues. Each finalist showcases precision, performance, and pride—qualities that Rawlings values and promotes in the sport. According to Mike Thompson, the Chief Marketing Officer of Rawlings, these finalists embody the essence of defensive brilliance that energizes the game, making the announcement a momentous occasion.

The voting process for determining the winners involves coaches and managers, who vote from a carefully selected pool of qualified players, intentionally avoiding votes for their team members. This ensures a level of impartiality and fairness in recognizing the best of the best. In a move aiming to enhance the selection process, Rawlings incorporated the SABR Defensive Index (SDI) in 2013, which contributes about 25% to the final selection, providing a comprehensive evaluation of defensive capabilities.
