KLA Schools Unveils Innovative Early Learning Center in St. Augustine Community

KLA Schools is making strides in early childhood education with the upcoming launch of its new early learning center in St. Augustine, Florida. This center is situated in the vibrant communities of Beachwalk and Beacon Lake, which are known for their family-friendly environments and rapid growth in St. Johns County. The center, located at 1505 Beacon Lake Parkway, offers a unique educational experience based on the Reggio Emilia approach—an innovative philosophy that emphasizes child-led learning, autonomy, and creativity.

The new school is scheduled to accept its first students beginning January 5, 2026, using a phased enrollment strategy. To celebrate this momentous occasion, an open house event will take place on January 10 from 10 a.m. to noon, allowing families to explore the new facilities, interact with educators, and understand the school's pedagogical approach to early education. Jose Franco, the franchisee of the new location, highlighted that this opening is not just about launching an educational institution but about introducing an advanced educational model that stands apart from conventional preschool settings.

"Unlike traditional preschools, KLA nurtures independence and critical thinking while fostering a lifelong love of learning," Franco stated. "We encourage children to lead projects, voice their ideas, and engage in meaningful academic activities structured around their unique interests."

This child-centric educational philosophy regards children as competent and inquisitive explorers, thriving best through hands-on experiences, collaboration, and imaginative play, rather than traditional rote learning. The school environment itself has been meticulously crafted to align with these educational principles, featuring 11,000 square feet of indoor learning space and an additional 6,000 square feet of outdoor areas set across a sprawling 1.4-acre property. With 10 classrooms and a specialized atelier for arts, this facility is designed to promote interaction, creativity, and discovery.

As it stands, the new location has the capacity to enroll up to 208 students, with around 40 spaces already filled via early enrollments. For families that join before January 10, promotional incentives may be available. The decision to establish a center in the picturesque Beachwalk community, renowned for its resort-style living and community-centric resources, aligns with KLA's mission of fostering creativity and curiosity in children. Franco noted, "The community's emphasis on family, lifestyle, and recreation ideally complements our values."

By providing a stimulating and secure environment, coupled with a focus on academic, social, and emotional growth from infancy to age five, KLA Schools is keen to help young learners build a lasting foundation for their future. Jennifer Spess, the Executive Director, is enthusiastic about the prospects of the new school, guiding families through the enrollment process and available tours. Families interested in securing a place for their child can reach Spess directly via email or phone for further information.

The overarching vision for KLA Schools is to create a quality educational experience that inspires children and equips them to navigate the world positively. As part of its expansion plan, KLA Schools operates 26 locations across the United States, with more in development. This particular school opening is anticipated to reinforce KLA’s standing as a leader in children's educational services, having been recognized as the top provider in this sector by Newsweek in its 2023 list of America's Best Customer Service Companies.
