Empowering Young Women Researchers: The WISER Business Ideas Presentation Event

On March 13, 2026, an exciting event will take place in Tokyo that aims to empower women's voices in research and business. Tayo Corporation, based in Yokohama, Kanagawa, is at the forefront of fostering entrepreneurship among female researchers through the WISER (Women In Science Excellence and Revolution) initiative. In collaboration with An-Nahal, Beyond Next Ventures, and GTIE—a platform that supports university spin-offs—this program is designed to assist young women researchers in launching their startups and participating in innovative projects.

The WISER Community

The WISER community has been instrumental in building a network of 50 female researchers. They have recently gathered for a series of entrepreneurial boot camps specifically tailored to their needs. Over a six-month period, ten selected researchers received support from the GAP fund, which provided funding ranging from 1 to 5 million yen each. In addition to financial backing, participants benefited from expert mentoring aimed at commercializing their research ideas, validating hypotheses, and developing effective business models.

During the demo day, these women will present their results, showcasing their hard work and innovative concepts aimed at various fields such as medicine, engineering, physics, and biomaterials. The event promises to be a platform for creativity and groundbreaking ideas that can drive meaningful change in society.
