AESC Achieves Industry-Leading A- Rating from CDP for Climate Change in 2025
AESC Achieves A- Rating from CDP
AESC, a prominent global leader in electric vehicle (EV) battery technology and energy storage solutions, has been awarded an A- rating by the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) for its efforts in combating climate change. This rating marks a significant milestone for the company as it represents the highest score achieved by any global lithium battery manufacturer in the 2025 reporting cycle.
The CDP operates one of the leading frameworks for environmental disclosure, which is widely trusted by investors, regulators, and customers to assess companies' performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters. Out of over 22,100 companies assessed in the CDP Climate Change program for 2025, only 10% received an A- or higher. AESC's A- rating reflects its robust and transparent carbon management framework and ongoing progress in battery decarbonization.
Commitment to Sustainability
AESC integrates emission reduction objectives into its business decisions and daily global operations. The company has developed strong capabilities in carbon management, renewable energy deployment, and industrial decarbonization. When it comes to carbon footprint management, AESC aligns its global operations with EU battery regulations and other international compliance requirements.
To achieve this A- rating, AESC implemented a systematic framework for carbon footprint management, established an enterprise-wide database of emission factors based on internationally recognized methodologies, and collaborated with suppliers in earlier stages of the supply chain to bolster carbon accounting and management data.
In renewable energy and decarbonization, AESC reached several industry milestones. In 2022, it became the world's first battery manufacturer to achieve carbon neutrality across all its global operations (Scope 1 and 2) as verified by Carbon Trust. That same year, it launched the first carbon-neutral EV battery in the industry and debuted a carbon-neutral energy storage battery in 2023.
Optimizing Manufacturing Operations
Within its global manufacturing network, AESC continues to optimize operations to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through various energy-saving improvements on-site. These include enhancements in temperature and humidity regulation, installation of smart sensors in production lines, and the recycling of waste heat and water to minimize energy waste. At the same time, the company works closely with key suppliers to promote emission reductions throughout the entire value chain.
Due to these comprehensive efforts, AESC has developed a practical and scalable decarbonization blueprint for the global lithium battery industry. The A- rating from CDP further strengthens AESC's status as a leader in sustainability, as it partners with customers and stakeholders worldwide to foster a more sustainable battery ecosystem.
