Join the Heart Action Charity Campaign: Make a Difference for Children's Vaccination

Heart Action Charity Campaign: Supporting Children's Vaccination

The Heart Action Charity Campaign is back for its fourth consecutive year, aiming to provide vital vaccinations to children in developing countries. On August 10, also known as Heart Day, individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate in this initiative by posting photos and videos featuring hearts on social media with the hashtag #HeartAction. For every post shared, one vaccination will be donated to children in need through the support of participating companies.

This year, we are excited to collaborate with 11 companies and organizations, which contributed to over 32,623 posts across platforms like Instagram and X in 2024. By partnering with the Japan Committee for Vaccines for the World’s Children (JCV), we are not only increasing awareness about the importance of vaccinations but also enabling corporate engagement in social responsibility under the umbrella of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Why This Campaign Matters

Each day, 4,000 children lose their lives to vaccine-preventable diseases such as polio, measles, and whooping cough in developing countries. This alarming statistic translates to one child dying every 20 seconds from diseases that could easily be prevented with timely vaccination. The rising instances of whooping cough in Japan highlights that this issue is not just a distant concern.

Due to a recent outbreak, the National Institute of Health Crisis Management (JIHS) reported over 56,664 infected individuals in Japan as of August 5, making it evident that the fight against infectious diseases is a pressing concern for everyone.

The plight of children also came to light with the recent discovery of a 3-year-old girl diagnosed with polio in Myanmar, underlining the urgency in providing vaccines. JCV aims to address this crisis by delivering vaccinations and ensuring a healthier future for the children.

Supporting Vaccination Efforts

JCV has been at the forefront of vaccination efforts in developing countries since its establishment in 1994. Working alongside UNICEF and various health ministries, JCV has helped vaccinate over 133 million children by converting donations from initiatives like plastic bottle caps into vaccines. In 2024 alone, approximately 3,000 individuals and 1,000 corporate groups helped deliver vaccines and cold chain equipment worth over 123 million yen to children in four countries.

How Companies Can Get Involved

We invite companies to sponsor the campaign with a minimum contribution of 50,000 yen per partnership, with multiple sponsorships allowed. Key benefits for sponsors include:
1. Photos of children from supporter countries holding banners featuring the company logo.
2. Company logos featured on special pages, press releases, and social media posts.
3. Digital flyers and online banners for promotional use.
4. Opportunities to showcase your company’s support on JCV’s website and social media.

For continued partnership throughout the campaign, businesses can engage in tie-up collaborations, where product sales result in direct donations for vaccinations.

Conclusion

Together, we can enhance awareness and support for children's vaccination efforts. The Heart Action Charity Campaign not only strives to save lives but fosters a sense of community—uniting NPOs, corporate entities, and individuals alike.
