NOK Showcases Innovative Products at 2026 YOKOHAMA Automotive Technology Exhibition
NOK Corporation, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, is gearing up to participate in the "2026 YOKOHAMA Automotive Technology Exhibition," taking place at Pacifico Yokohama from May 27 to May 29, 2026. With a vision focused on enhancing safety, reliability, and environmental solutions in the automotive sector, the company will unveil five new products tailored for electric vehicles (EVs).
The upcoming exhibition promises to highlight NOK's commitment to advancing mobility technologies that support the growing electric vehicle market. NOK's booth will showcase innovations aimed at boosting electromagnetic noise management, enhancing battery pack safety, complying with PFAS regulations, improving lubrication performance, as well as offering design and manufacturing efficiencies.
Featured Products and Innovations
Among the standout offerings at NOK's booth are several cutting-edge products:
1. End Surface Sliding Breathable Brush (New Product)
This innovative conductive brush is designed for use with the shafts of EV drive motors. One persistent issue in this area is the electromagnetic noise generated by inverter switching, which can lead to bearing electric corrosion and radio noise. Traditionally, multiple components were necessary to combat these challenges, but this new solution integrates conduction, dust and water protection, and breathable functionality into a single part. This design not only simplifies installation but also reduces weight and the number of components, allowing more flexibility in surrounding layouts.
2. Pressure Release Valve Fitting Type (New Specification)
To address the critical issue of thermal runaway in EV battery cases, this product allows gas generated during such an event to safely vent to the outside. Maintaining both waterproof and dustproof properties while ensuring a safe gas venting mechanism is essential. The newly added fitting type to the existing pressure release valve series eliminates the need for bolts, simplifying installation while enhancing durability and corrosion resistance through NOK’s proprietary RUSTECTOR technology. This technology is designed to slow corrosion progress.
3. PFAS-Free Brake Shim (New Product)
To comply with strengthening PFAS regulations, NOK is introducing a brake shim that utilizes a low-friction coating without organic fluorinated compounds. This innovative material guarantees low friction performance while adhering to environmental guidelines, thus preventing brake noise and maintaining traditional performance standards. The product is available as coil material, allowing customers to shape it into shims as needed.
4. Rubber Coated Metal Gasket Cover (New Product)
This component combines a cover and gasket into one seamless unit, addressing challenges associated with multiple separate parts. NOK’s integrated manufacturing process not only reduces the total number of components but also streamlines assembly, ultimately enhancing efficiency across various applications, including electronics and industrial machinery.
5. Next Generation PAO Grease (New Product)
Offering outstanding performance across a wide temperature range, this next-generation PAO grease has improved heat resistance by approximately 40% while maintaining low-temperature performance. This grease minimizes viscosity changes at different temperatures, ensuring optimal lubrication under various conditions. It is especially suitable for gears in automotive sunroofs and actuator systems.
