In a remarkable achievement for both Chile and the global wine community, Vik has been crowned as The World's Best Vineyard for the year 2025 during a prestigious awards ceremony held in Margaret River, Western Australia. This announcement not only highlights Vik’s prowess in viticulture but further strengthens Chile’s position on the world wine map.
The list of The World's 50 Best Vineyards 2025, which includes vineyards from 15 different countries across six continents, reflects a new era of innovation and sustainability within the wine industry. Vik, situated in Millahue and sprawling over a vast 4450-hectare nature reserve, has impressively maintained its status as a beacon of luxury and excellence in wine production. With 327 hectares of vineyards that benefit from 12 diverse microclimates, the estate uniquely combines environmental sustainability with breathtaking architecture.
Following a groundbreaking year in 2024 where it was ranked second, Vik now takes over the title from last year's winner, Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal of Rioja, Spain, which has now entered the Hall of Fame.
This year’s awards saw a total of 11 new entries on the list, showcasing emerging vineyards that are making their mark in the global scene. Notable among them is Aperture Cellars from Sonoma, USA, which received the ‘Highest New Entry Award’ at number 14.
Moreover, there was excitement for the South African wine scene as Klein Constantia Wine Estate gained the title of The Best Vineyard in Africa, alongside winning the ‘Highest Climber Award’ for moving up 35 spots to reach number six. The estate's focus on delightful wines that reflect the essence of the region contributed heavily to this achievement.

In addition to Vik’s top honor, Schloss Johannisberg in Rheingau, Germany, was recognized as The Best Vineyard in Europe, renowned for its deep-rooted tradition in Riesling production dating back over 1200 years. On the other hand, Bodegas Ysios from Rioja, Spain, also made an impressive appearance at number 3.
