Universal Music Group Expands its Retail Presence with Exciting UMusic Shops in New York and London

Universal Music Group (UMG), the forefront leader in music-based entertainment, has taken a significant step in enriching fan experiences by unveiling two new UMusic Shops located in New York and London. This initiative, in collaboration with UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle, aims to create dedicated spaces where fans can engage more deeply with the music they love and the artists behind it.

The inaugural UMusic Shop in New York, situated at 2 Penn Plaza, is celebrated as UMG's first permanent retail location in North America. Officially opened on December 10, 2025, this store serves as a cultural hub that embodies the vibrant music scene of Manhattan. In anticipation of the holiday season, the shop features a festive makeover with decorated windows showcasing an array of products including vinyl records, exclusive merchandise, and accessories representing artists from the UMG roster — among them are international sensations such as Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Elton John.

To mark its grand opening, UMusic Shop NY has teamed up with local brand Awake NY to launch an exclusive capsule collection called "Music Is Universal." This unique collaboration emphasizes the importance of music and its cultural impact while also allowing fans to purchase bespoke merchandise that represents their favorite artists. Additionally, the shop is hosting limited-time pop-up experiences honoring the legendary Neil Diamond and Republic Records’ rising star Conan Gray, creating a tangible connection between fans and the artists' music that inspires them.

Across the ocean, the UMusic Shop Camden is set to open on December 16, 2025, in one of London’s key cultural hubs, Camden Market. This location embraces the creative spirit of Camden, offering a space where music, fashion, and design intersect. With a focus on providing immersive and interactive experiences, UMusic Shop Camden will feature exclusive merchandise, live performances, and innovative installations that invite fans to experience music in a new and engaging way. The highlight of this location includes a dedicated Vinyl Lounge, a DJ booth, and a unique Sound Room designed to emulate a recording studio environment, where fans can revel in the sounds of their favorite tracks.

Susan Mazo, UMG's EVP and Chief Impact Officer, conveyed enthusiasm for the new stores, stating, "The launch of these two stores in New York and London further expands our commitment to connecting UMG’s artists, labels, and songwriters with their fans through exclusive experiences and merchandise. Both locations are steeped in rich musical heritage, and we're thrilled to establish new meeting points for fans to engage with the music and artists they cherish."

These latest UMusic Shops expand on the brand’s previous launches in Madrid and Tokyo, contributing to a growing network of retail destinations dedicated to building a global community where music lovers can gather, discover, and celebrate their favorite songs and artists.

The opening of UMusic Shops represents more than just additional retail locations; they are a visionary step towards fostering deeper connections in the music industry. Fans are increasingly seeking physical spaces that echo their passion for music and create opportunities for unique interactions with artist-driven events, merchandise, and community gatherings.

As UMG continues to innovate within the retail space, the UMusic Shops are poised to become essential hubs for music culture by seamlessly blending shopping, entertainment, and meaningful experiences that celebrate artistry in all forms. The shops not only offer products but provide immersive environments that encourage creativity and the sharing of musical moments, making them a staple in the lives of music enthusiasts.
