Featherlite Trailers Hosts a Landmark Gathering for Dealers at 2026 Summit

Featherlite Trailers Unites Dealers for First Time in Nine Years

Featherlite Trailers has taken a significant step in reinvigorating its dealer network by hosting the highly anticipated 2026 Featherlite Dealer Summit at its headquarters in Cresco, Iowa. More than nine years have passed since the last formal gathering, making this event a pivotal occasion for the company and its dealer community.

The summit, which took place from September 22 to 23, welcomed dealers from across the country to explore Featherlite's manufacturing operations and new product introductions. "The Dealer Summit was about bringing our Featherlite dealer family together again and giving them an inside look at what's happening at Featherlite," stated Justin Queensland, the President of Featherlite. He expressed excitement about showcasing the significant investments made in equipment, facilities, and dealer support, but emphasized the value of the conversations and constructive feedback shared during the event.

One highlight of the summit was a guided tour of Featherlite's manufacturing facilities. Dealers were able to witness several recent modernization projects firsthand, including the introduction of advanced manufacturing equipment such as a state-of-the-art 5-axis machining center and a new fiber laser cutting machine designed to enhance efficiency and quality. The fiber laser cutting system utilizes an impressive 12,000-watt laser to accurately cut aluminum and steel sheets, measuring up to approximately 13 by 6 feet. These technological solutions are crucial to improving production speed and overall effectiveness.

The corporate office, parts warehouse, and custom service center also underwent updates, which dealers explored. The discussions continued with insights into Featherlite's company history, marketing, sales processes, and future product directions, highlighting new digital tools intended to enhance the purchase experience for trailers. The presentations featured innovative 3D product modeling and a simplified quote builder, demonstrating Featherlite's commitment to investing in resources that empower dealers and strengthen sales support.

In 2019, Featherlite transitioned to new ownership under a corporation led by Tim Masud and Howard Palmer, with Masud taking the role of CEO. Masud reflected on the importance of the dealer network in extending Featherlite's reach to customers nationwide. He expressed gratitude for the dealers' partnership and their dedication to representing the brand.

The summit also offered an occasion to honor the significant contributions of veteran dealer members. Gary and Tammy Raak of Twin Cities South Trailer Sales received the Featherlite Lifetime Achievement Award for their unwavering commitment to the brand and their exemplary service within the trailer industry. Their association with Featherlite dates back to the early 1990s, showcasing their long-standing loyalty and partnership.

Of course, the product showcase was a major attraction at the Dealer Summit. Dealers were treated to a firsthand look at a wide array of Featherlite trailers, including horse, livestock, and car models. Notable updates discussed included:
  • - New features such as a fold-down bed, escape door lighting, and double curbside doors on the Model 4410 and 4412 car haulers.
  • - Options for over-fender cabinets on the Model 4410, 4412, and stackers like the Model 4414.
  • - Adjustable roller wheels and rail options for straight load dividers within the 9000 Series horse trailers.
  • - Improved living quarters with larger refrigerators, new sofas, and updated cooktops.
  • - Enhanced aluminum weld-on hinges on rear and center gates, along with a reinforced rear frame on selected livestock trailers.

These new specifications are indicative of Featherlite's ongoing product development efforts, which include the recent launch of the Model 4410, 4412, and 4414 car haulers featuring an innovative joggle side sheet design aimed at creating a smoother and more appealing exterior.

Reflecting on the summit, Queensland remarked, "The Featherlite Dealer Summit marked an important opportunity for Featherlite and its dealers to reconnect, share ideas and look toward the future together." He extended thanks to all the dealers who participated, making the event a resounding success.
