Experience the Exciting New Creations at ObongJip in Shin-Okubo
ObongJip, a renowned Korean home cooking restaurant based in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward, is set to unveil an exciting new menu exclusively at its Shin-Okubo location. From June 1, 2026, guests can delight in two innovative variations of
chijimi (Korean pancakes) – the
Mala Chijimi and the
Corn Chijimi – introducing a fresh culinary twist that capitalizes on the current trend in Korean cuisine.
Introduction of New Dishes
1. Mala Chijimi: A Spicy Sensation
The
Mala Chijimi takes a bold leap by incorporating the incredibly popular mala flavor that's currently sweeping through South Korea. This chijimi is generously loaded with large, succulent shrimp that perfectly complement the invigoratingly spicy, tongue-numbing mala seasoning. Each bite is sure to tantalize your taste buds, making it an unmissable dish for spice lovers.
Special Price: ¥1,800 (tax included)
Regular Price: ¥2,000
2. Corn Chijimi: A Sweet and Savory Delight
The
Corn Chijimi offers a delightful take on the traditional pancake, enriching it with a plethora of sweet corn to create a wonderfully chewy texture. The natural sweetness of the corn harmonizes beautifully with the pancake batter, and when paired with the house-special condensed milk sauce, it transforms into an irresistible dish that feels like dessert. It's an ideal option post-spicy meals, offering a refreshing change of pace.
