Octillion Power Systems Expands Its Footprint in Nevada

Octillion Power Systems, a prominent supplier of high-density lithium-ion battery packs, has firmly established itself in the North American electric vehicle (EV) market by inaugurating its latest manufacturing facility in Reno, Nevada. This new plant, known as Nevada One, marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to expand its manufacturing capabilities to meet the increasing demand for electric vehicle technologies across various sectors.

The Nevada One facility spans approximately 40,000 square feet and is poised to serve not only the electric vehicle market but also off-highway equipment, commercial vehicles, marine applications, and grid storage solutions. According to Paul Beach, the Global President of Octillion Power Systems, this facility will serve as a catalyst for satisfying the rising demand from major clients in various e-mobility segments, while also providing a model for others looking to establish similar co-located factories in North America.

The plant is designed to produce a total capacity of 1GWh by 2025, adding to Octillion’s existing capacity of 25GWh across its seven other manufacturing sites worldwide. This robust increase reflects the company's commitment to advancing its production capabilities in response to a rapidly growing market. Beach highlighted the importance of such expansions in facilitating the future developments in the EV industry, stating, “Our growing manufacturing footprint is essential to meeting the escalating battery system demand.”

Local officials have acknowledged the value of Octillion's arrival in Western Nevada. Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada CEO, Taylor Adams, stated, “The arrival of Octillion in Western Nevada is a significant boost for our state’s electrification industry.
