Encouraging Children's Physical Activity and Self-Confidence

In a significant effort to promote physical activity among children, Bandai, based in Taito, Tokyo, is launching an exciting new initiative this fall titled 'Create a Jump Rope King! Jump Rope Certification Event.' This program, which runs from October 24, 2025, to February 28, 2026, invites preschool and elementary school children from across the nation to participate in a fun and engaging way to learn the correct techniques for jumping rope.

Jump rope is a common activity in many elementary schools, often used as a warm-up exercise. However, opportunities for systematic training are often lacking. As a result, many children struggle with jump rope skills, and the trend of children feeling challenged by the activity is increasing. The 'Create a Jump Rope King!' event aims to address this gap by providing accessible resources and guidance.

World-renowned jump rope player Hijiki Ikusen will be the instructor for the program. Children will have the chance to learn proper jumping techniques step by step through instructional video lessons. Additionally, a comprehensive Jump Rope Encyclopedia featuring 24 tricks at various skill levels will be made available to participants. Each lesson focuses on the correct jump rope techniques, including basic skills like forward jumps and cross jumps, to support both beginners and advanced jumpers in their skill development.

As a unique offering in this initiative, the online certification event allows children to share their experiences and progress by uploading videos demonstrating their newly acquired skills. All participants will receive an online badge, recognizing their efforts and achievements in mastering various tricks. The ultimate goal is to earn the title of 'Jump Rope King,' while participants are also encouraged with prizes based on their progress and challenges completed.
