Ryuugasaki Kitchen Komeka Tomato to Open in Shibuya for a Limited Time

Welcome to Ryuugasaki Kitchen Komeka Tomato

Set to open on February 10, 2026, in Shibuya, Tokyo, Ryuugasaki Kitchen Komeka Tomato is a limited-time restaurant that celebrates the delicious combination of rice and tomatoes. This venue is inspired by the beloved local treat from Ryugasaki City, where tomatoes with a distinctive pointed tip resembling a heart, known as Ryugasaki Tomato, are harvested. Following last year's successful launch, this year's restaurant promises an imaginative menu that revolves around these local products from Ibaraki Prefecture.

A Culinary Focus on Rice and Tomatoes

At Ryuugasaki Kitchen Komeka Tomato, the rice and tomatoes featured on the menu are sourced from Ryugasaki's specialty agricultural products. Guests can indulge in a series of mouthwatering dishes where these ingredients take center stage. From the previously popular Tantanmen and curry, to a new addition, the Whole Tomato Pot-au-Feu, diners are guaranteed an honest yet lavish dining experience. Enjoy a meal that celebrates the natural sweetness and flavor of the vegetables, presented in a sophisticated yet rustic manner.

Moreover, patrons have the chance to purchase both rice and tomatoes directly from the restaurant, giving them the market feel while they dine.

Weekly Featured Croquettes

True to its roots, Ryuugasaki Kitchen will showcase weekly rotating croquettes from renowned local shops, reflecting the city’s reputation as the “Croquette Town.” This year, a delightful Tomato Potage will also be served as a small soup option, offering a unique flavor experience that changes daily based on the tomatoes available.
