GURTWEIN Pop-Up Event at ISETAN Shinjuku: A Celebration of Couture Elegance

GURTWEIN's First Pop-Up Event at ISETAN Shinjuku

GURTWEIN, a renowned women's brand operated by FIVE Co., Ltd, is set to host its inaugural pop-up event at ISETAN Shinjuku. From February 18 to 24, 2026, visitors can experience the brand's latest spring/summer collection, highlighting the artistry and elegance of couture fashion.

Couture Dress Exhibition and Custom Orders

During this exclusive event, GURTWEIN will showcase a selection of eight meticulously crafted evening dresses from its archives. Each piece is a testament to the brand's commitment to haute couture, featuring intricate fringework, three-dimensional embroidery, delicate feather embellishments, and luxurious silk, creating sculptural silhouettes that captivate. This show is particularly significant as it marks the first time GURTWEIN has opened its custom orders to the general public, reflecting the trust the brand has built with buyers since its inception.

The Spring/Summer 2026 Collection

The inspiration for the new collection comes from the mobile sculptures of Alexander Calder, combining modern tailoring with a lightness that allows for transparency and fluid ruffles. The collection is designed to enhance the joy and excitement of wearing clothing, changing form with every movement.
GURTWEIN continues to expand its signature offerings of outerwear and blouses, introducing wide trousers that embody a perfect blend of simplicity and uniqueness. After more than 18 months of research and development, these trousers display a calculated waist fit and innovative center pleats, celebrating the brand's commitment to tailored identity and craftsmanship.

Brand Identity

GURTWEIN believes in dressing each individual with pride and joy. Every garment is crafted to evoke the true delight of fashion and the excitement felt at the moment of wearing something beautiful. Their mission is to provide a foundation upon which people can build their unwavering beauty and self-confidence.

About GURTWEIN

GURTWEIN was founded by Teruhiko Hasegawa, a former design director for GIVENCHY and BURBERRY, alongside Jianying “Wing” Lai. The brand's aesthetics fuse European couture principles with the meticulous craftsmanship of Japanese artisans, offering a contemporary femininity that is both intelligent and elegant.
After earning bachelor’s degrees in women’s wear from Central Saint Martins, the founders furthered their studies under the late Louise Wilson OBE, eventually winning the LVMH Graduate Prize with their graduation collections. Hasegawa's career spans significant roles under Riccardo Tisci at GIVENCHY, where he was entrusted with leading various projects, eventually moving to BURBERRY before returning to Japan to establish GURTWEIN.
