KEIAI's Forest Initiative: A Community Tree Planting Event for Environmental Conservation

KEIAI's Forest Initiative: A Community Tree Planting Event

Introduction
KEIAI Real Estate Co., Ltd., headquartered in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, recently hosted its third tree planting event, titled "Let's Create KEIAI's Forest!" in Daigo Town, Ibaraki Prefecture. This initiative aims to promote environmental conservation through community involvement, and it brought together 15 participants, including employees and their families, to learn and engage in sustainable practices that underscore the importance of preserving our environment.

Event Overview
The tree planting was one of the company’s key initiatives aimed at achieving a sustainable society, emphasizing coexistence with local communities. On the day of the event, participants planted 100 saplings and later toured areas from previous planting events held in July 2022 and July 2025. Observations showed significant growth: the seedlings planted in the first event, which were around 40 cm high, reached 170 cm by the second planting and have now grown to an impressive 235 cm. This indicated not just the power of nature but also the critical impact of conservation efforts.

Participants also engaged in creating coasters from thinned cedar wood, further exploring sustainable uses of forest resources.

Continuing Commitment to Conservation
As a company that specializes in wooden homes, KEIAI Group is committed to ongoing tree planting initiatives to deepen understanding of the wood materials it utilizes. The costs associated with the saplings planted are funded through company donations, aligning with its aim to contribute to a sustainable society. Moreover, the event utilized the company's volunteer leave system, facilitating employee participation in community engagement and environmental conservation, thus fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.

Nomenclature of the Planting Area
The naming rights acquired during last year's activities were continued for this year's event, held in the area designated as "KEIAI no WA Yutakano Mori." The term "WA" encompasses three concepts: "circle" representing the environment; "ring" symbolizing the community formed through the planting process connecting employees, families, forestry workers, and the local community; and "harmony" reflecting the commitment to using domestic timber. The term "Yutaka" ties back to the company’s management philosophy of creating a "wealthy, enjoyable, and comfortable life" alongside hopes for the abundance of forest resources.

Sustainable Practices Moving Forward
KEIAI Group maintains its commitment to providing a comfortable living environment while being mindful of regional and global ecological systems. The tree planting event exemplifies the company’s wider efforts in environmental conservation, and it will continue to champion sustainable practices in its operations.
