NH Healthy Families and Fisher Cats Team Up to Benefit Local Kids for a Decade

NH Healthy Families Continues the Tradition of Giving

In an inspiring show of community solidarity, NH Healthy Families has extended its partnership with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats for an impressive tenth consecutive year through the Base Hits for Kids initiative. This remarkable collaboration aims to enhance the lives of children and families in New Hampshire, celebrating its milestone with a donation of $10,000 to The Granite YMCA.

A Celebration of Community Involvement

The partnership was highlighted on August 30 during a Fisher Cats home game, where Gerri Vaughan, the President and CEO of NH Healthy Families Plan, presented a check to the Granite YMCA. Michele Sheppard, President and CEO of The Granite YMCA, expressed her gratitude, stating, "We deeply value NH Healthy Families' continued commitment. This generous support, paired with their year-round partnership, helps expand opportunities for children, families and individuals across New Hampshire."

Gerri Vaughan echoed this sentiment, saying, "It is a privilege to once again support The Granite YMCA and the meaningful programs they provide for families across the state." The event was not only about the donation; NH Healthy Families' staff made the occasion even more memorable by distributing over 200 foam moose antlers, which attendees proudly wore during the game.

Strengthening Community Bonds

The Fisher Cats, who are celebrated for their dedication to community engagement, have played a pivotal role in fostering this collaboration. Taylor Fisher, the General Manager of the Fisher Cats, shared, "The Fisher Cats are proud to continue this community-centered partnership with NH Healthy Families. Their ongoing support helps strengthen programs that benefit local children and families." This partnership embodies the spirit of collaboration aimed at making a tangible difference in the lives of local residents.

The Impact of Donations

Founded in 1854, The Granite YMCA is a cornerstone institution in New Hampshire, committed to strengthening youth development, promoting healthy living, and supporting families. In 2024 alone, they provided over $1.6 million in financial assistance and services to 12,937 individuals, showcasing the profound impact of such collaborations on community welfare.

NH Healthy Families, a health plan dedicated to serving New Hampshire residents through the state Medicaid program, focuses on transforming health within the community. This initiative is further enriched by their connection with the Fisher Cats, a Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, which boasts a legacy of athletic excellence and community support.

A Commitment to the Future

As the NH Healthy Families and New Hampshire Fisher Cats partnership continues, the implications for future generations are enormous. With ongoing support, both organizations are committed to fostering a healthy, supportive environment for local families, demonstrating that together, they can achieve extraordinary things. As they celebrate this milestone, the community looks forward to the positive changes that this collaboration will continue to bring.
