Zeigler Auto Group Marks 50 Years by Supporting Local Charities with Food Drive Success

Zeigler Auto Group's 50th Anniversary Celebration: A Commitment to Community Service

As Zeigler Auto Group commemorates its 50th anniversary, it reflects on a year marked by a significant achievement in community service. The recent completion of their 7th Annual Ugly Sweater Holiday Canned Food Drive has resulted in an impressive total of 51,260 items collected for local charities. This year's champion, Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates, notably increased its contribution, providing 20,629 items, which nearly doubled their previous year’s total.

This charitable initiative has become a vital tradition for the Zeigler Auto Group, which encompasses various dealerships across four states, including Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The spirit of competition among the dealerships not only fosters camaraderie but also drives significant contributions to local food banks desperately serving communities in need. In the past seven years, this initiative has yielded a remarkable total of 191,505 items, ingraining itself as a cornerstone of Zeigler's community engagement efforts.

Annual Food Drive Competition Highlights

The Ugly Sweater Food Drive promotes friendly competition between dealerships, encouraging each to choose its local beneficiaries where donations will be directed. Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates, the top-performing dealership this year, donated to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry and celebrated this accomplishment with a festive gathering where the staff donned the infamous ugly sweaters.

Following closely was Zeigler Honda of Racine, leaping from third place last year to second with 10,905 items donated to Mt. Zion Christian Church, a remarkable increase from their previous year’s participation. Meanwhile, Zeigler Subaru of Lafayette claimed third place, contributing 5,530 items to Food Finders Food Bank—a staggering increase from just 230 items last year.

The competition's remaining ranks featured Zeigler BMW of Orland Park and Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Grandville, contributing 2,988 and 2,532 items respectively, benefitting local food banks. The sixth to tenth places showcased consistent efforts from other dealerships across the group, each contributing valuable items towards the greater cause of community support and nourishment.

The Growth of Community Initiative

Since its inception in 2019, the Ugly Sweater Holiday Canned Food Drive has grown enormously, showcasing how a simple initiative can yield meaningful results in the fight against hunger.
