SINEXCEL Unveils Advanced Energy Storage System for Latvia's Largest Wind Farm Project

SINEXCEL Powers Latvia's Largest Wind Farm Energy Storage Project with Advanced 1725kW PCS

On April 28, 2026, in TĀRGALE, Latvia, SINEXCEL proudly announced the deployment of twelve advanced Power Conversion Systems (PCS) with a total capacity of 1,725 kW for the nation’s largest energy storage project at a wind farm. This significant achievement underscores the company's commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions.

A Milestone in Energy Storage

The integrated battery storage system, boasting a capacity of 20.64 MWh, has officially commenced commercial operations alongside the Tārgale wind farm. This project represents a landmark development for energy stability and the incorporation of renewable resources throughout the Baltics. It is notably the first facility in the region to qualify for all frequency regulation services, which is crucial for maintaining grid stability.

Enhanced Stability and Efficiency

The 1,725 kW PCS is designed for optimal performance in varying operational environments, providing a remarkable conversion efficiency of 98.5%. The system reacts in milliseconds to fluctuations, offering critical balancing services such as frequency regulation, voltage regulation, and managing short-term voltage dips or surges (L/HVRT). With an IP54 rating, it operates seamlessly in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C, ensuring durability and reliability.

Every PCS unit is fully certified according to European standards including CE, VDE 4110/4120, and EN 50549, while also meeting compliance criteria for power grid standards in major markets including the USA, Australia, Japan, and Thailand. This guarantees its effective deployment within pivotal energy networks globally.

Advanced Technology Features

SINEXCEL's innovative multi-branch battery connection design minimizes circulating currents between parallel clusters, enhancing battery health and lifespan. Moreover, the architecture is modular, allowing for the replacement of power modules on-site without needing to shut down the entire system, thus reducing maintenance downtime and long-term operational costs.

Major Global Impact

SINEXCEL’s 1,725 kW PCS system not only strengthens Latvia’s energy landscape but also marks a significant step in the global energy storage market. With total global shipments surpassing 1 GW, this milestone highlights the growing trust in SINEXCEL's technology across diverse regulatory and climatic settings. This installation further reinforces SINEXCEL’s robust capabilities in delivering reliable PCS solutions for large-scale energy storage initiatives worldwide.
