Clarios Reaches a Significant Milestone

Clarios, a prominent player in advanced energy storage solutions, has achieved a remarkable milestone by producing its one millionth 12-volt lithium-ion battery on January 31, 2025. This achievement highlights the company's position as an innovator in low-voltage energy storage technologies critical for a variety of vehicles including internal combustion engines, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and electric vehicles.

The production of these batteries is made possible through Clarios' extensive global network, with manufacturing facilities located in the USA and assembly systems in Europe to remain close to its customer base. Notably, the company has made significant progress in transitioning from traditional lead-acid batteries to being a chemical-independent provider of energy systems.

Clarios has produced an impressive six million 10Ah lithium-titanate-oxide (LTO) prismatic power cells alongside its one million lithium-ion batteries. All LTO cells are manufactured at Clarios' facility in Meadowbrook, Michigan. The lithium-ion battery production line, established in Hannover, Germany, became operational in 2020 and has since been continuously improved to meet the rising demand for state-of-the-art battery systems.

The Hannover site plays a central role in Clarios' global production strategy. With state-of-the-art technology and dedicated staff, innovative energy storage solutions are developed for deployment worldwide. This production line serves as a pioneering example for low-voltage battery systems, yet also as a model for other facilities in the network.
