GAC's Overseas Export Success: A New Chapter in Global Expansion

In a remarkable display of growth, GAC has achieved a staggering 133.9% increase in its export volume for the first four months of 2026. The company's push towards international markets has been accelerated by a robust 86% year-on-year growth in overseas sales during the first quarter. Between January and April, GAC successfully exported 70,474 vehicles, marking a decisive step in its ambition to reach an annual target of 250,000 units, with aspirations set on achieving 300,000 by the end of the year.

The AION UT: Leading the Charge

The flagship model, the AION UT, has established itself as a dominant player in several regions. This electric hatchback not only ranks first in sales in places like Hong Kong SAR, Colombia, Uruguay, and Singapore, but also marked significant sales numbers in Indonesia and Thailand. Australia has shown a promising response, with over 600 orders within just the first month of pre-sales.

Regional Growth and Milestones

GAC’s expansion strategy has yielded remarkable results in various global markets. At the Bangkok International Motor Show, the company garnered 6,287 orders, and sales showed unprecedented growth in Hong Kong SAR, Malaysia, and Indonesia, surging by 503%, 900%, and 338%, respectively. In Europe, GAC made a significant entry into the market with the AION UT launching in Milan and starting localized production in Austria in collaboration with Magna—signifying a serious commitment to the European market.

Breakthrough Performance in the Americas

Across the Americas, GAC has witnessed phenomenal growth, with sales in Uruguay and Colombia experiencing increases of 775% and 1,007% respectively. This uptick in demand is a testament to GAC's effective market penetration strategies and the acceptance of its innovative vehicle offerings. Furthermore, GAC is increasing its presence in the sports marketing arena, backing renowned football clubs such as Brazil's Flamengo and Bolivia's Oriente Petrolero.

Strategic Growth and Future Goals

During the 139th Canton Fair, GAC received letters of intent for over 900 vehicles, translating to approximately $10 million in export value. This outcome underscores the success of its Technology + Ecosystem business model. Additionally, the 2026 GAC International Partner Conference, attended by 700 dealers from 87 countries, reinforced its international sales network and demonstrated GAC's commitment to forging strong global partnerships.

At Auto China, GAC unveiled its 2030 Strategic Plan, positioning itself to penetrate 120 countries and establish over 2,000 overseas touchpoints. The company seeks to leverage its comprehensive product range across its brands, including GAC, AION, and HYPTEC, aiming for an ambitious target of one million annual overseas sales.

GAC’s vision transcends mere product export; it aims to create a cohesive global ecosystem that integrates its business operations within different markets. This ambition places the company on a promising path to reach the international milestone of one million units sold. As GAC sharpens its focus on global ecological integration and customer satisfaction, its journey towards global leadership in the automotive industry appears to be well underway.
