From March 1 to May 31, 2026, Shangri-La Tokyo will host an enticing event titled "Asian Ethnic Dinner Taiwan" at The Lobby Lounge. Located on the 28th floor of this luxurious hotel, the dinner aims to bring the essence of Taiwan's culinary delights to Tokyo, allowing guests to indulge in a true gastronomic adventure without leaving the city.

This dining event, which first debuted last year, reflects Shangri-La's deep connection to Asian culture and will feature a thoughtfully curated menu designed for sharing. Guests can look forward to a memorable evening that highlights Taiwan’s vibrant flavors and dishes.

Menu Highlights


The dinner begins with a selection of appetizers that perfectly complement a variety of beverages. Among the options are century eggs, pickles, sesame oil-soaked jellyfish, and spiced peanuts to kick-start the meal. One of the standout dishes is the pepper shrimp, delicately seasoned with black pepper and served with shrimp chips, providing a delightful crunch.

A must-try is the Taiwanese sausage, which is crafted using the quintessential five-spice powder that includes star anise, bringing an intriguing blend of sweetness and flavor, heightened by the sharpness of scallions. Guests will also enjoy a stir-fried vegetable medley enriched with chili and garlic, offering a zesty kick.

The highlight of the savory dishes is surely the signature soup dumplings, known for their slightly thicker, crispy-bottomed skin and chewy texture. Guests are reminded to be careful while enjoying these puppies as they are filled with piping hot, juicy meat.

To round off the meal, diners are invited to savor the beloved Taiwanese comfort food, Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice), recognized for its intoxicating aroma from aromatic spices and its rich, sweet, and savory taste. Accompanying this dish is a refreshing mix of red onions and cucumbers tossed in chili sauce, perfectly balancing the meal. For dessert, the traditional Taiwanese sweet, Douhua (tofu pudding), awaits. Offered with a gentle sweetness from soy milk and topped with tapioca, mango, and goji berries, this dessert provides a unique twist on a classic delicacy.
