Starting from January 6, 2026, Nana's Green Tea, a cafe brand that specializes in matcha and Japanese tea, will launch a limited edition series called
Hojicha & Chocolat for the Valentine’s Day season. This seasonal lineup promises to highlight the aromatic qualities of roasted green tea and the rich, bitter essence of chocolate.
A Unique Valentine’s Treat
This special series offers two delectable ways to enjoy the combination of hojicha, chocolate, and berries, with a parfait and a latte among the offerings.
Hojicha Chocolate Berry Parfait
In true Nana's style, the Hojicha Chocolate Berry Parfait reimagines chocolate with a harmonious blend of flavors. This parfait features the rich aroma of hojicha, layered with hojicha ice cream, hojicha chocolate, fresh strawberries sourced locally, and dark chocolate crunch. To enhance your experience, you can drizzle the included hojicha chocolate sauce over the top. This sauce, prepared in-house at each store, beautifully emphasizes the aroma of hojicha when mixed in.
Furthermore, the hojicha chocolate and jelly are crafted using a luxurious hojicha powder developed in collaboration with
Uji Tea Nakamura in Kyoto. This unique powder is roasted at a higher temperature to ensure that its flavor shines through even when paired with dairy products. As you enjoy the parfait, expect a delightful mix of smooth chocolate whipped cream, mixed berry sauce, and hojicha jelly, creating a new taste sensation that you won't find in coffee or other teas.
Hojicha Chocolate Latte (Hot/Iced)
Also included in this limited series is the Hojicha Chocolate Latte, which combines freshly brewed hojicha with chocolate syrup and milk. The hojicha latte is made using hojicha powder developed with Uji Tea Nakamura, ensuring the robust aroma of hojicha shines through even in the creamy concoction. Each cup is topped beautifully with rich chocolate whipped cream and a tangy mixed berry sauce, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing end note of hojicha. This drink offers a unique combination of sweet yet refreshing flavors, akin to a luxurious hot chocolate infused with the smokiness of roasted tea.

Hojicha & Chocolat series was conceived as a way to reimagine chocolate in the Nana’s Green Tea style for Valentine's season. Inspired by Black Forest cake, we aimed to create a new balance with hojicha at the forefront. The layering of chocolate and berries, reminiscent of the Black Forest’s chocolate-cherry combination, guided our selection. We focused on how to integrate the roasted hojicha flavor without overpowering the sweetness and acidity of the other ingredients. Our new hojicha chocolate sauce, a subtly sweet blend of chocolate and hojicha, offers an aromatic depth that sets this dessert apart from traditional chocolate offerings.”
