Embracing Diversity in the Workplace: The YORISOU Seminar Series
In today’s labor landscape, the difficulties many people face at work are increasing. These challenges stem from various factors, including developmental disabilities, mental health issues, and workplace harassment. To address these pressing concerns, YORISOU Social Insurance Labor Consultant Office, based in Nakano, Tokyo, is hosting a comprehensive seminar series titled "From Known to Unknown". This series spans twelve sessions over the course of one year, beginning in August 2026 and concluding in July 2027.
Seminar Purpose and Structure
The primary goal of this seminar is to delve into the various factors contributing to the feeling of being unable to work comfortably. Each session will feature experts from diverse sectors, including corporate, medical, welfare, and legal fields, coming together to share their insights and deepen mutual understanding.
The focus will be on themes such as job transition support, employment for people with disabilities, and the long-term effects of trauma (ACE), while promoting the creation of inclusive organizations where everyone can work authentically.
Participants will have the option to join live sessions or watch the archived recordings later. Each session will conclude with a networking event, encouraging dialogue and relationship-building among attendees.
Understanding the Challenges
The increasing number of individuals feeling isolated in their work environments is a pressing issue. The YORISOU seminar aims to shed light on the underlying reasons behind perceived problematic behaviors in the workplace. For many, feelings of discomfort may have roots in trauma or unique personal challenges that are often overlooked.
For instance, using earplugs might be a strategy to manage sensory overload, and panic attacks may signal anxiety about uncertain situations. The seminar encourages participants to foster conversations around these "reasons", viewing them as opportunities to understand each other better and to build a more compassionate workplace.
Event Details
The seminar series will take place at the Chiyoda District's Nakuroki Building, conveniently located within walking distance from Kojimachi and Yotsuya stations, from August 7, 2026, to July 6, 2027. Each session is scheduled between 17:15 and 19:15, providing ample opportunity for participants to learn and engage with one another.
The participation fee is set at 120,000 yen (excluding tax) for individuals, with a reduced rate of 60,000 yen (excluding tax) available for groups of two or more from the same organization.
