Introducing TRANS WORK's New Functional Apparel for Hot Summers

TRANS WORK Launches Summer Apparel Using Dantotsu Achiyu Technology

In response to the increasing demand for functional clothing amid prolonged summers and extreme heat, TRANS WORK, a women's clothing brand developed by Sanyo Shokai Co., has launched four new apparel items including three blouses and one pair of pants, all utilizing the durable stain-resistant finish known as Dantotsu Achiyu®. These pieces are now available at major department stores across the country, as well as at the SANYO ONLINE STORE.

With climate change significantly impacting weather patterns, Japan has been experiencing longer summers and rising temperatures. Starting from 2024, Sanyo Shokai has chosen to redefine the seasons, considering summer as not just a single season but divided into two – “early summer” and “intense heat”, extending the typical summer apparel sales period from three months to five months. Moreover, as consumer preferences shift towards not only comfort and functionality but also stylish designs suitable for various occasions, TRANS WORK is stepping up to meet these needs. This initiative is part of the company’s broader project themed “Smart Clothing for Climate Change Adaptation” that will be implemented in the Spring/Summer season of 2026.

The new products introduced by TRANS WORK uniquely combine design and practicality, featuring characteristics that address common everyday stains, provide cooling sensations, and offer UV protection. The line is presented in three colors: classic white – which highlights the stain-resistant qualities, versatile black, and a vibrant royal blue – perfect for the hot summer months.

Background of Product Development

Climate Change Adaptation Strategy at Sanyo Shokai

In recent years, Japan's climate has undergone drastic changes, with record-breaking heatwaves expected to persist through 2025. The Japan Meteorological Agency has forecasted higher than average temperatures for the summer of 2026. As a result, consumer buying behaviors are shifting towards the practical need for clothing that is suitable for the actual temperature conditions.

To adapt to the changes in customer behavior, Sanyo Shokai has responded by segmenting the summer into two distinct parts:
