Florida Proudly Showcases Its Film Industry at Cannes 2026 with Florida Day

Florida Returns to Marché du Film: Celebrating Florida Day

Florida's vibrant film industry is set to make waves at the renowned Marché du Film this year, proudly hosting Florida Day for the second consecutive time at the FilmUSA Pavilion in Cannes, France. This significant event is designed to showcase Florida's regional film commissions while facilitating connections between local filmmakers and international production partners.

A Unified Front

Presented by Film Florida in collaboration with Film Lauderdale, Film Keys, Film Tampa Bay, and the Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission, Florida Day aims to forge and strengthen relationships within the global production marketplace. After a successful debut in 2025, this year’s program promises even more opportunities for networking, sharing insights, and promoting collaborative projects.

The day consists of three major elements aimed at cultivating solid connections and fostering dialogue:
1. Pastries Under Palm Trees: Kicking off the festivities at 10:00 AM, this informal meet-and-greet invites delegates and attendees to engage with one another while enjoying delightful pastries in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s an excellent opportunity to break the ice and create connections.

2. Producing in Paradise: Scheduled for 2:30 PM, this panel discussion dives into Florida's production incentives, highlighting the state’s unique advantages for filmmakers. Industry experts will cover topics such as infrastructure growth, talent development, and the diverse project pipeline that Florida offers, emphasizing its position as a prime destination for film production.

3. Florida Happy Hour: The day concludes with a networking reception at 4:30 PM where attendees can unwind and mingle over drinks and conversation, further fostering a collaborative spirit among Florida and FilmUSA delegates.

Showcasing Florida’s Strengths

As part of a larger initiative to enhance its presence at the Marché, Florida aims to attract international producers by showcasing its rich array of local incentives. According to John Lux, Executive Director of Film Florida, “Florida Day is about showing up the way our industry deserves — unified, prepared, and ready to do business. The Marché is where the next slate of international productions begins to take shape, and Florida is here to be part of that conversation, showcasing the robust local incentives available in our state.”

The FilmUSA Pavilion acts as a pivotal base for 17 U.S. film commissions this year, ensuring that international filmmakers can easily engage with various regions within the country. Florida’s participation highlights the increasing trend toward collaboration among state and regional film commissions to effectively compete for global production.

Emphasizing Florida’s Film Landscape

Florida's dynamic production sector encompasses not just feature films but also episodic television, commercials, and digital content. Supported by an extensive network of regional film commissions, the state boasts a wealth of experienced crew members and a diverse range of locations, from urban settings to beautiful coastal and natural environments.

With such a wealth of resources and incentives on offer, Florida is well-positioned to be a key player in the international film market. Moreover, attending producers, financiers, and members of the press are warmly invited to join Florida's delegation at the FilmUSA Pavilion on May 15, making it a not-to-be-missed opportunity for collaboration and innovation.
