Mazda to Host Yuji Danganmi's Exhibition at MAZDA TRANS AOYAMA in March 2026

On March 3, 2026, Mazda will open a special exhibition titled "The conduit of life" by contemporary artist Yuji Danganmi at its brand experience facility, MAZDA TRANS AOYAMA, located in the upscale Aoyama district of Tokyo. This exhibition will run until March 29, 2026.

Exploring the theme of human and nature cycles, Danganmi's work emphasizes the idea of value generated through movement, akin to how bees connect life through their pollination activities. Through this showcase, Mazda aligns its core values with the artistic perspectives offered by Danganmi.

About the Exhibition "The conduit of life"

The term 'conduit' signifies not merely a channel or waterway but also embodies concepts like 'mediator' and 'connector.' Just as vital red blood circulates through the human body, beautiful pollen flows throughout the Earth, signifying life's continuity. The movement of bees from flower to flower symbolizes the passage of life, highlighting the cycles of regeneration and environmental interconnectedness.

In this exhibition, Danganmi will utilize ancient techniques of beeswax painting, employing upcycled bee nests and natural materials to create works that illustrate the beauty of life's cycles born from movement. A series of new creations themed around Mazda’s signature color, red, will also be unveiled, showcasing Danganmi's vision of life and regeneration.

Additionally, projects centered on the rebirth from heavy rain disasters in the Chugoku region of Japan will be exhibited. This theme resonates with the overall message of the show, showcasing how damaged entities can regain their flow and vitality.

Exhibition Statement

"Just as healthy red blood flows through people, beautiful pollen flows through the Earth. Such a path is beautiful. Let’s keep moving along a beautiful path."

Danganmi emphasizes that for individuals, the pulsing of healthy red blood is paramount, while beautiful pollen's flow is essential for the Earth. His works serve as a reminder of the beauty found in the journey of recovery and movement.
