Tillamook's Cheesy Adventure on Route 66
Tillamook, the iconic Oregon-based cheese brand, is making waves along America's historic Route 66. In a spirited attempt to showcase its commitment to quality cheese, Tillamook has introduced an exciting new attraction this Labor Day weekend: a colossal replica of their famous Medium Cheddar Baby Loaf. This not-so-baby loaf measures approximately 32,000 times the size of a normal loaf, making it a spectacular sight for road trippers and cheese aficionados alike.
A Closer Look at the Cheeseside Attraction
Nestled among the scenic pines of Flagstaff, Arizona, the Cheeseside Attraction represents Tillamook's philosophy: great cheese is made by taking the longer route. This principle is reflected in the aging process of Tillamook cheddar, which imparts a rich, bold flavor - setting it apart from other cheeses. The unveiling event will take place on August 29, from noon until 2 PM MST, at the Americana Motor Hotel, where guests can interact with the giant loaf, indulge in Tillamook cheese, and explore a specially crafted menu.
Celebrating with Delicious Offerings
During the unveiling, visitors will have a chance to sample mouth-watering Tillamook creations. The hotel will feature limited-edition items at its Far Out Food takeout window, including favorites like the Spicy Tillamook Cheddar Breakfast Sandwich and a local root beer float made with Tillamook Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Moreover, every guest checking in between August 29 and September 7 will receive a Tillamook Ice Cream Bar, bringing a sweet touch to their stay.
Not just a memorable pit stop, the hotel will also transform into a Tillamook wonderland, with themed decor and experiences throughout the premises. Guests will find branded floats and towels by the heated pool, making it a true cheese-themed getaway.
Extended Experiences for Cheese Lovers
For those wishing to extend their stay, the Tillamook Cheeseside Stay package is available. This unique experience includes two nights of accommodations adorned with Tillamook-inspired decor and a journey into the heart of dairy goodness. Visitors can immerse themselves in the cheesy culture from check-in to indulging in the specially designed menu.
Additionally, locals are welcome to join the poolside fun, with day passes to experience the themed activities.
Visitors who are in town between September 4 and 6 will also be able to enjoy Tillamook cheese samples from 11 AM to 6 PM (while supplies last), making it a delightfully cheesy holiday weekend.
