Sky Labs Supports the Established Investigator Award for Clinical Hypertension
On March 12, 2026, Sky Labs, a pioneering healthcare company based in Seoul, South Korea, publicly announced its support for the
Established Investigator Award for Clinical Hypertension, initiated by the
American Heart Association (AHA). This significant move comes as a result of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the AHA last September, aiming to propel the advancement of hypertension research on a global scale.
The Established Investigator Award will honor three distinguished researchers between 2026 and 2028, who have made exemplary contributions to the field of hypertension research. Sky Labs, in its commitment to fostering such initiatives, will contribute approximately
$90,000 to the AHA. This funding will cover not only the annual fees for the selected researchers but also any program-related costs necessary for the award's operations. Participation in this prestigious award requires membership in the
Scientific Council on Hypertension of the AHA.
Jack Byunghwan Lee, the CEO of Sky Labs, expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, "It is a tremendous honor for us to support the American Heart Association, thereby contributing to the promotion of world-class hypertension research. We will intensify our clinical research efforts to validate blood pressure control solutions while simultaneously enhancing our research and development activities to support these initiatives."
Sky Labs is recognized for its innovative approach to managing chronic diseases. One of its flagship products is the
CART, the world’s first medical ring-shaped blood pressure monitor. Following its establishment in September 2015, Sky Labs has engineered this cutting-edge wearable device to provide continuous monitoring of patients' health conditions.
The trajectory of Sky Labs' technological advancement has been notable. In 2020, the company launched the first CART designed for monitoring atrial fibrillation using heart signals through optical sensors. Progressing through the years, the company has consistently expanded its technological capabilities. Notably, in 2023, Sky Labs received regulatory approval for the
CART BP pro, a ring-shaped device for 24-hour blood pressure measurement. This device was recognized in 2024 by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) under the medical service category for
24-hour long-term blood pressure measurement, which is currently prescribed in hospitals and clinics across Korea. Furthermore, the company introduced the
CART BP in September 2025, a consumer-oriented blood pressure monitor that can be purchased through their official online shop and various other online retail channels.
The collaboration with the American Heart Association marks an important milestone for Sky Labs as it seeks to enhance its contributions to hypertension research and patient care. By supporting such prestigious awards, Sky Labs not only encourages academic excellence but also strengthens its own position in the healthcare industry as a leader in innovative health solutions and chronic disease management.
