TIB JAM Island Camp: Empowering Young Innovators



In an initiative to promote entrepreneurship among young individuals, Gaiax Co., Ltd., a company specializing in fostering entrepreneurial education, is hosting a two-day entrepreneurship camp named "TIB JAM 島CAMP" (TIB JAM Island Camp) on Hachijo Island, Tokyo. This event will take place on September 13th and 14th, 2025, targeting local high school students and university students from outside the island.

Program Background



The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been emphasizing the importance of expanding startup talent through its TIB JAM initiative. This program aims to cultivate entrepreneurship among the youth throughout Tokyo. The TIB JAM Island Camp is a key part of this effort, designed to encourage high school and college students to engage in fieldwork that explores the island's unique natural resources and culture, while identifying potential business opportunities and sustainable solutions to local issues.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors and entrepreneurs, participants will collaborate to uncover hidden challenges and strengths of Hachijo Island, eventually proposing innovative solutions. This educational experience is aimed at nurturing problem-solving skills, collaboration, and creativity among young adults.

Camp Details



The TIB JAM Island Camp is structured to include hands-on workshops and fieldwork:

  • - Overview: A platform for local high school students from Tokyo Metropolitan Hachijo High School and university students from outside the island to work together identifying and tackling potential challenges in the community. Mentors and Instructors



The camp features a highly qualified team of instructors and mentors:

  • - Keisuke Yoshikawa: Head of Entrepreneurship Education Projects at Gaiax and an ambassador for entrepreneurship promotion with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. After earning his degree from Kanazawa University's School of Education, he has focused on implementing inquiry-based learning and entrepreneurial education in local high schools, receiving recognition from the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.

  • - Yoshinori Sasaki: Executive at Gaiax and representative director of the Startup Studio Association. With a background in engineering and entrepreneurial experience, he leads development support and investment evaluations for student and young entrepreneurs through Gaiax.

  • - Aimi Kameoka: Manager of the Incubation Division at Gaiax and CEO of Omochi LLC; she has helped over 10,000 aspiring entrepreneurs both domestically and internationally after her own startup venture.

  • - Yuna Asahara: Instructor at Gaiax's Entrepreneurship Education Division; she has experience teaching at international schools in Finland and has launched entrepreneurship initiatives for students.
