Gransta Tokyo's Underground Revamp
Gransta Tokyo, an essential commercial space located within the bustling Tokyo Station, is undergoing a significant transformation. On
September 16, 2026, a revitalized section known as the
Underground Marunouchi Ticket Gate Area will welcome visitors back with a plethora of new attractions. Under the management of JR East Japan's Cross Station Development Company, this revamp aims to create a more accessible and enjoyable experience for daily commuters and travelers alike.
Renovation Highlights
From January 2026, an extensive
eight-month renovation will endeavor to establish a space that maximizes everyday usability. The guiding concept,
FAV ZAKA (Favorite Marunouchi Slope), will feature a total of
26 shops, including
10 new brands, and
11 existing popular shops undergoing renovations or rebranding. Among these,
13 exclusive brands will be available just in Tokyo Station, presenting visitors with unique products that can’t be found elsewhere.
Alongside these retail offerings, guests will be treated to fresh, handcrafted sweets prepared in an open kitchen, a relaxing restaurant environment, and spaces infused with art, including unique installations aimed to engage the senses. With features designed to make it a desirable spot to revisit time and again, the renewed Underground Marunouchi Area will undoubtedly cater to everyone, from daily commuters to tourists.
Art Integration and Exhibitions
An exciting addition to the underground area is the
ART WALL by
SPIRAL, a well-known art center in Aoyama, Tokyo. Titled
“A Door to Wonder”, this installation will blend seasonal changes and multi-sensory experiences to provide surprise-filled scenes in an everyday backdrop.
Kicking off the first exhibition will be
kopfkino (Ayano Igarashi), showcasing imaginative plant specimens that merge the beauty of natural formations with fantasy. This display will entice patrons journeying through Tokyo Station into a captivating realm of the imaginative, seamlessly bridging reality and fantasy.
Exciting Promotions
To celebrate the grand reopening of this fresh space, an
original sticker designed by the newly created character
FAV will be distributed to visitors from
September 16, 2026, while supplies last. Each customer making a purchase at one of the 26 new shops will receive one sticker per transaction as a token of celebration.
Furthermore, a
limited-time campaign will run from
September 16 to 29, 2026, offering customers participating in the
JRE POINT campaign a chance to win up to
26,000 points. Designed to coincide with the opening of the 26 new shops, the campaign provides an exciting incentive for customers, with a total of
800 winners eligible for attractive prizes.
To qualify for the campaign, customers need to register on the
JRE POINT campaign website and present their accumulated points at participating shops. For every
2,000 yen spent, participants can earn drawing entries, increasing their chances of winning.
