ICP DAS-BMP Unveils Breakthrough Medical Materials at COMPAMED 2025

ICP DAS-BMP Unveils Innovative Medical Material Solutions at COMPAMED 2025

Taiwan-based ICP DAS-BMP (Biomedical Polymers), a leading manufacturer of medical-grade thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), proudly announces its participation in the upcoming COMPAMED 2025 exhibition, set to take place from November 17 to 20 at Messe Düsseldorf, Germany. Attendees are encouraged to visit booth C09-4 in Hall 8b to explore groundbreaking material advancements aimed at improving medical device performance.

One of the main attractions this year will be two revolutionary TPU product lines, the Low Migration Series and the Low Friction Series, which directly address critical needs in medical device manufacturing.

The Arothane™ ARP-B20 from the Low Migration Series complies with ISO 10993 standards and is safe for use in implants lasting up to 90 days. This innovative material minimizes additive migration during processing, ensuring that catheters maintain smooth surfaces throughout their lifecycle. It also offers 15 color options, allowing for versatile designs tailored to specific healthcare applications.

No less impressive is the newly introduced Low Friction Series, engineered with an inherently smooth surface that negates the need for additional coatings or post-processing treatments. Comprising solely TPU and explicitly free from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and plasticizers, this series promises reliable long-term stability, preventing surface exudation or additive migration. Its low friction properties make it ideal for applications requiring smooth insertion, such as nasogastric tubes with guides, ensuring both safety and performance during storage and use.

In addition to these flagship products, ICP DAS-BMP will showcase a comprehensive range of TPU solutions tailored to diverse medical needs. The ARP, ALP, and ALC series are compatible with most body contact devices, while the ARP-B20 and ALC-B40 series are FDA-approved for 90-day implantation. For radiopaque applications, the ARP-W and ARP-WG series incorporate 40-60% tungsten to enhance visibility in thin-walled devices and guides. Additionally, the Engineering Arothane™ EARP is recognized for its clarity and durability, making it suitable for orthodontic applications and Luer-Lock connectors.

These innovative materials underscore ICP DAS-BMP's ongoing commitment to developing safer, more reliable, and versatile TPU solutions that empower medical device manufacturers to meet the evolving demands of modern healthcare.
