Brunswick Main Street is excited to reveal the recipients of this year's Façade and Interior Improvement Grant for 2024. This program aims to empower local businesses and property owners within the Brunswick Main Street district by providing vital financial resources that will enhance their physical spaces, all while helping to preserve the town's historic essence.
This year, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) generously allocated $50,000 to fund a diverse array of improvement projects. The grant recipients for 2024 include:
- - American Legion: Awarded $28,397 for essential flooring improvements, this project promises to enhance the organization's community space.
- - Bridgeway Bikes: Received $600 to relocate and install new signage, effectively improving visibility and access for their services.
- - 2 E Potomac: Awarded $7,776 aimed at paving the back lot, tackling crucial infrastructure upgrades to benefit the business.
- - Roots & River: Granted $13,227 for exterior painting and signage, which will significantly boost the curb appeal of their establishment.
The Façade and Interior Improvement Program has proven to be a significant force for growth and revitalization within Brunswick. Since its inception, it has successfully facilitated nearly
$1.5 million in enhancements throughout the district. Previous recipients have utilized these funds for critical upgrades including roofing, exterior painting, and signage which greatly augment the aesthetics and economic vitality of downtown Brunswick.
