May 30 to July 12, 2026, this event aims to enhance public awareness of sustainability through the
LOFT GREEN PROJECT: SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY & LIFE 2026.
Since its inception in autumn 2021, LOFT has been committed to fostering a society that prioritizes environmental considerations and overall well-being. The guiding slogan for this project is
“Using the power of household goods to make our lives and the Earth happier.” The initiative serves as an invitation for consumers to engage with pressing environmental issues through everyday products and practices.
This year’s project centerpieces three significant themes:
environmental consideration, consideration for people, communities, and society, and a recycling program. LOFT has set out to make an impact by minimizing CO2 emissions, showcasing specific products that adhere to this reduced carbon footprint through the
Decarbonization Selection Project (Dekaboscore SELECTION).
What is Dekaboscore?
The
Dekaboscore, introduced by Earth Hacks in May 2023, is a pioneering platform created to help people understand their participation in achieving a decarbonized society. Through an ISO-compliant Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the Dekaboscore provides a clear score that indicates the CO2 reduction rate of various products and services, promoting eco-conscious decision-making among consumers. Presently, over 350 companies are utilizing this scoring system, making it easier to understand the environmental value of their purchases.
Featured Products in LOFT's Decarbonization Selection
During this event, 16 selected products will be highlighted in LOFT stores across Japan, emphasizing their substantial Dekaboscore ratings. for instance:
- - Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap Refill (946ml) - Price: ¥3,960 (Dekaboscore: 91%): This all-in-one organic soap drastically reduces plastic waste through refillable cartons, showcasing an impressive 86% reduction compared to traditional packaging.
- - Elecom's 10,000mAh Semi-Solid Battery - Price: ¥8,480 (Dekaboscore: 37%): Featuring a cover made from recycled plastic, this mobile battery efficiently reduces CO2 emissions throughout its lifecycle.
- - Fernanda Muscat Fragrance Body Splash - Price: ¥1,760 (Dekaboscore: 4%): This body splash emphasizes real fruit scents while using upcycled materials sourced from local grape production.

Recycling Initiatives and Community Support
In addition to the Dekaboscore-related efforts, LOFT has been proactive in implementing various recycling initiatives since November 2021. The
Container Recycling Program targets cosmetic product containers, with an impressive collection of 7.9 tons as of April 2026. Furthermore, they have expanded textile recycling programs that have gathered 9.5 tons of materials, contributing to the circular economy.
LOFT is also dedicated to community engagement, with collaborations with local governments and businesses under the
Jimoto Loft initiative that promotes local products. The store has consistently engaged in efforts to contribute positively to the environment and support social causes, aligning with the goals of the
SDGs and participating in various projects aimed at mitigating climate change.
