Berger Montague Leads Antitrust Class Actions Recoveries For Second Consecutive Year

Berger Montague Dominates Antitrust Class Action Settlements

In a notable achievement, Berger Montague, a prominent national plaintiffs' law firm, has once again secured the top position in recovering compensation for clients involved in antitrust class action settlements. This marks the second consecutive year that the firm has achieved this remarkable feat, according to the recently published Antitrust Annual Report Class Actions in Federal Court by the Center for Litigation and Courts at the University of California College of the Law San Francisco along with The Huntington National Bank. The firm proudly holds the record for the most compensation recovered as lead counsel, successfully advocating for both individuals and small businesses affected by monopolistic behaviors and collusions.

As the legal field evolves, the data from the report sheds light on essential aspects of federal antitrust class actions, including the total number of complaints filed, average time for settlements, mean and median recoveries, and the attorneys' fees and costs incurred in these cases. Joshua P. Davis, a shareholder at Berger Montague and co-author of the report, emphasizes the report's critical role in mapping the landscape of federal antitrust class actions. He highlights the importance of such data in providing a comprehensive view of the types of cases and their outcomes.

With 312 complaints filed, Berger Montague ranks third for the number of antitrust complaints brought to court in the report's timeframe. This performance reflects the firm’s commitment to obtaining justice for its clients. Eric Cramer, the firm's chairman, explains that this accolade signifies the dedication of their exceptional team: “This report recognizes our success in vindicating the rights of thousands of individuals, workers, and small businesses,” he said. “We have been able to succeed because of the amazing team of talented antitrust professionals we have assembled, which is second to none.”

Caitlin G. Coslett, co-chair of the firm's antitrust department, stresses that the firm's enduring success can be attributed to its commitment to nurturing new talent.
